Giveaway: three bottles of Waipara Hills Equinox wine

I’m a huge fan of a beautiful bottle of wine, and even better when it’s a homegrown variety. New Zealand has some seriously great vineyards, with Waipara Hills constantly rated up there with the best.
They have just released a limited edition selection of two absolute marvels called the Equinox range, which captures the special terroir of the region and is tellingly named after the Equinox winds that blow hot and dry across the plains.
The 2011 Waipara Hills Equinox Sauvignon Blanc is described as “offering class, intimacy and vibrancy, while still maintaining a fresh and crisp taste.” It has a slightly smoky oak note mixed with ripe peach and nectarine to create a wine that is essential drinking.
The other option is one of my favourite wine varieties, the 2010 Waipara Hills Equinox Pinot Noir. Ruby red in colour, it offers a balanced structure of firm acidity and French oak, “carrying delicious notes of dark cherry and a touch of char and dried spice” – even the description makes me swoon!
The Waipara Hills Equinox range is distributed in New Zealand by Hancocks (free phone 0800 699 463) and available from specialty wine outlets and online from March 2012 at www.waiparahillswines.co.nz
Luckily for you, I have three bottles of Waipara Hills Equinox to giveaway – valued at $29.90 each. Just email me at helene@mshelene.com with your name, address and date of birth (you have to be over 18 to enter). Get to it!
