Love it: the M.A.C CC Colour Correction collection

It’s not often that you apply a base of some form - BB cream, foundation, tinted moisturiser - only to have it look exactly the same as the fresh application eight hours later. After submitting to the hands of M.A.C trainer Olivia recently for a little one-on-one I left with skin looking amazingly flawless - and remaining so over eight hours later when I reluctantly scrubbed it off!
The occasion was the launch of M.A.C Prep+Prime CC Colour Correct, an innovative new line of colour correcting creams and powders created by the global beauty leaders to “enhance and perfect your skin tone”.
Prep+Prime CC Colour Correcting SPF 30 is a creamy, tinted primer that evens skin tone in a multi-tasking formula. It’s available in four shades and aren’t a traditional CC Cream, but do have some of the benefits of one with a formula that evens skin tone, brightens, and protects with an SPF 30.
Olivia applied mine over a light wash of the brand’s beautiful BB Cream, but you can actually use them all their own over a light moisturiser. For example Adjust is a peachy beige that will work fine as a lightweight tinted moisturiser of sorts to even skin tone, brighten, and provide a makeup-less look that’s very, very flattering if you do not suffer from major skin problems such as redness, blemishes, acne, and the like. Other shades include Neutralize, which has a sheer yellow tint to combat redness, Illuminate is a light shade of lavender that brightens and duller skin tones, whilst Recharge has a strong orange-y apricot tone to add warmth to medium or darker skin tones. Amazing stuff!
And luckily for us, you can counteract a few skin tone issues at once thanks to the addition of Prep+Prime CC Colour Correcting powders, which apply transparently, smoothing away the appearance of lines and imperfections. Available in Prep+Prime CC Colour Correcting Loose and a handbag friendly Prep+Prime CC Colour Correcting Compact, they are an absolute wonder to use. I’ve been loving Illuminate dusted under my eyes to combat my hereditary dark circles, it adds light and softens without needing any kind of hardcore concealer.
All three options will be available instore on March 3 and are RRP $54.00. Get in there!

Beauty news: The M.A.C Sharon Osbourne, M.A.C Kelly Osbourne collections

The inimitable MAC Cosmetics debuted their first two ads for their collection with Kelly and Sharon Osbourne on their Instagram page last night - and announced that it will be out on June 14!
"MAC Kelly Osbourne debuts this summer @kellyosbourne #MACOsbournes," read the beauty brand's post. The lilac-haired rock princess couldn't keep the information to herself, too. Taking to her Twitter page, Osbourne expressed her excitement for her upcoming range. "Here's my collection visual for @MACcosmetics, w/ amazing makeup by @MAC_John_S," tweeted Ozzy Osbourne's daughter, whose look for the ad was created by M.A.C Senior Artist John Stapleton.
Her mother had to share her new ad on social media, too. "So excited to share my 1st @MACcosmetics collection photo w/you (makeup by @MAC_Neil_Y) #MACOsbournes..." Sharon's makeup was created by Senior Artist Neil Young, and I have to say that she looks fierce.
Bring on The Osbournes!

Beauty destination: The Spa at The Darling, Sydney

Adjacent to Sydney’s only casino, replete with style and the home of the same city’s biggest spa, The Darling Hotel at Darling Harbour just may be the perfect home away from home in one of the world’s most exciting hot spots.
Part of the Star Casino but designed as a stand-alone hotel with its own arrival experience, amenities and alluring personality, The Darling has 171 rooms but each are most definitely ‘distinctly darling’ and well worth a rave all their own. From the 400 thread Egyptian cotton sheets and hand picked pillow menu, to the textured wallpapers and bespoke furniture, every tiny detail has been well attended to, and it comes as no surprise that The Darling was named one of the Top 60 Best New Hotels in the World by Condé Nast Traveller not long after opening its doors.
Located on the edge of Sydney Harbour, The Darling is two-part in its design. Having a distinctive inverted glass tower resting on a sandstone podium it features the aforementioned 171 stylish and spacious rooms, suites and penthouses, an infinity pool and 16 room luxury spa and was the only 5 star property to have been opened in Sydney since the 2000 Olympics. It looks and feels spacious and well appointed, but still most definitely an urban residence in a truly electric and multicultural city.
My home for my stay was one of the famous - and exquisitely spacious - Jewel Suites that offer a king-size bedroom and separate living area. They come complete with wet bar – which makes them perfect for entertaining - and are the perfect choice for lovers of luxury expertly mixed with the functional. The beautifully tiled bath and separate walk in wardrobe were the ‘jewel’ - quite literally - in the crown, with the incredibly efficient room service being an absolute bonus once again.
But onto the spa! The Spa at The Darling is definitely one to add to the ‘to do’ list whether you are travelling for business or pleasure, taking over the whole second floor of the hotel with its maze of treatment rooms. As well as being the biggest it is one of Sydney’s most luxurious and truly international spas, and a space that one could easily get lost in - both emotionally and physically.
From the moment I entered the spa and met my talented therapist Cheryl, I began to experience the warmth and luxury of the urban resort spa through a total sensory experience. With 16 private rooms including a beautiful and intimate couple’s treatment room and a room with an indulgent hamam (my absolute favourite element), the spacious spa is devoted to making guests look incredible and feel even better.
The organic yet totally lush space offers a range of services, from shorter fifteen-minute beauty treatments to full scale four and a half hour pampering sessions. The Spa also features an extensive array of Asian, European and local inspired treatments combining Eastern and Western techniques, some of which have never before been offered in Sydney spas. My treatment included a four-handed Enchanted Royalty massage, the best boost to one’s relaxation levels that I’ve experience in a long, long while. Designed to befit Royalty, it involves two therapists performing a symphony of synchronised massage techniques combining the therapeutic elements of Acupressure with Swedish, Balinese and Deep Tissue. To stimulate circulation, warm oil is applied to your body while warm stones are integrated to soothe away muscular tension on areas of the back, and the entire process takes place in a darkened room for heightened sensorial experience. Just divine and well worth a visit all of its own…

Hair how to: Ralph Lauren FW14 by Guido for Redken

“Southwest bohemian meets downtown cool” was This how Ralph Lauren describes his Polo women’s collection for Fall-Winter 2014, which was unexpectedly shown before the mainline at New York Fashion Week. The bohemian theme was clear with a mix of grungy floral prints, bold colours and plaid shirts, then it was time for the Ralph Lauren looks and the mood definitely shifted ti a more uptown glam vibe including fur coats, pin-striped suits and flirty ruffled skirts.
Redken Global Styling Director Guido was the man in charge of creating  two beautiful hair looks to complement the collections, and the downtown hairstyle of the Polo collection, created with Redken's new blowdry category, was paired on the runway with a more traditional Ralph Lauren low ponytail.
"For the Ralph Lauren collection look, I used satinwear 02 prepping blow-dry lotion to give the hair a silky, luxurious finish,” said the super stylist. “It was a classic Ralph Lauren ponytail that perfectly contrasted with the more natural, uninhibited style worn by the model for the Polo line."
To re-create the Uptown style of the collection look:
1. Shampoo and condition the hair with Redken Clear Moisture shampoo and conditioner
2. Apply satinwear 02 prepping blow-dry lotion to damp hair
3. Blowdry hair with round brush
4. Use fingers to pull hair back into a low ponytail
5. Fasten with a hair elastic
6. Wrap and pin a small piece of hair around the elastic
7. Finish with fashion work 12 versatile working spray

To re-create the boho-tastic Polo look:
1. Shampoo and condition the hair with Redken Clear Moisture shampoo and conditioner
2. Apply pillow proof blowdry express primer (not available until April in New Zealand) to damp hair
3. Allow hair to dry naturally
4. Use a curling iron to add movement into the mid-lengths and ends if necessary
5. Spray pillow proof blowdry two day extender (not available until April in New Zealand) on mid-lengths and ends for added texture

All about: luxurious body care and fragrance brand MARACA

When I met the impeccably dressed Chris Lim at the opening of the Auckland flagship for luxury goods store Coach towards the end of last year, I was struck immediately by his passion and enthusiasm for all things bright and beautiful. This includes his sweet-smelling, wonderfully international baby - the extraordinary MARACA.
The culmination of a life long dream to create a truly beautiful-yet-accessible lifestyle brand, MARACA was officially born in 2012 in Auckland, the city that Chris now calls home. At its helm is the effervescent and passionate founder, who sees the key touchstones of the brand as being: luxury, quality and style, with a firm emphasis on harnessing nature’s most effective ingredients. Born in Malaysia, Chris fell in love with the mysterious powers of fragrance and indulgence at an early age. “My aunt worked in the beauty industry and had the most amazing collection of perfume miniatures,” he told me over coffee at Toru at a later date, which would entice him to spend hours playing with them whenever he had the chance. “I really couldn’t keep away,” he adds with a laugh, and says that he has been obsessed by fragrance ever since.
This soon led to an early career turn when he was employed behind the fragrance counter of a luxury store at the age of 17, before he moved to the Australian city of Melbourne to study marketing and retail management at prestigious Victoria University.
2012 saw him living in New Zealand and embarking upon the his life long dream to establish his own lifestyle brand in the form of MARACA, and just two years later the journey is fast picking up pace with the brand now sold internationally and new fragrance lines in constant development.
The beautiful MARACA collection includes lush, decadent bodycare products as well as home fragrance lines divided by scent, story and inspiration. Each of the collection’s signature scents are designed by ‘nose’ Chris and formulated in France, whilst the range’s candles are individually hand-poured in New Zealand using natural plant waxes for better fragrance throw and a truly decadent feel. Not a detail has been left unchecked by the self-confessed “fashion and beauty fanatic”, and everything from the ingredients to the packaging is totally unique. My personal favourite from the line thus far is the ‘Sunset Dreams’ candle, which is the perfect accompaniment to long, warm, summer nights.
Inspired by “culture and fashion” rather than merely the latest trends in beauty and bodycare, the brand is also proudly unisex with freshly designed, slick, clean packaging and scents that will appeal to men and women whether they are in bodycare or home fragrance form. To say that they would work a treat on any mantelpiece or dresser would be putting it mildly - they are built to impress and they most certainly do.
To shop online or find a stockist near you visit the MARACA website here.

Love it: Clinique High Lengths mascara

When it comes to finding a great mascara, the clues are often in the wand. I’m always intrigued by the new shapes and sizes that pop up, and the one that comes with Clinique High Lengths mascara is definitely in a league of its own… and it works!
A mascara that has been designed to “take lashes to new lengths for a bigger, bolder look” according to the legendary beauty brand, it stretches your lashes and grabs even the tiniest lashes and brings them out of hiding. The curved, fine-toothed “comb” is a wonder of a wand, and truly is dramatically different from typical mascara wands by being very thin with just three ultra tiny rows of plastic .The plus to this feature is that it's virtually impossible for your mascara to clump, and the comb also separates lashes very easily because there are only a few rows of plastic for your lashes to adhere to. This "plastic" is another differentiator, as the wand doesn't have any of that fluffy material that you might be used to and is super clean to use.
After several applications I quickly decided that in many ways, I really love the unique brush - as I said, it allows for excellent lengthening without clumps, which is always my first requirement in mascaras. It can be built up for a serious false lash look, or just one coat will define and really open your eyes up too, so it’s super versatile and feels like nothing on.
Definitely worthy of a two thumbs up in my book - I love this stuff!

Giveaway: a double pass to the French Film Festival and L’Oréal Paris pack

One of my favourite times of the year is French Film Festival time, and it hits New Zealand again in late February.
As well as a slew of other fabulous Gallic flicks, Gold sponsor L’Oréal Paris is once again running six charity screenings of the French film ‘Bright Days Ahead’, with all proceeds going to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation charity.  L'Oréal Paris NZ began its relationship with OCRF in 2011 and also supports the foundation in other countries including the UK, the USA and Australia.
In 2013 L’Oréal-supported screenings raised more than $21,000 and this year they hope to top that, to which I say a big “hell yeah!”  As a cancer survivor any chance to help fund research into finding a cure for the insidious disease in all its many forms get two thumbs up from me.  The L’Oréal Paris sponsored charity film screens in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin this year, so there’s no excuse for many of us not to get out there and make the effort.
The funds raised from the screenings of ‘Bright Days Ahead’ this year will continue to assist the OCRF in its vital research to develop an early detector to fight the insidious disease and reduce the death rate from ovarian cancer.
To celebrate the opening of the French Film Festival, the iconic beauty brand is sharing the love by giving me a double pass and pamper pack to give away. Valued at $100.00 the L'Oréal Paris gift pack has all the hair and cosmetics products you’ll need to get your Parisian chic on, including Elvive Arginine Resist X3 Shampoo, Conditioner and Instant Miracle Treatment, along with Youth Code Day Cream, False Lash Telescopic Waterproof Mascara, Infallible 2-Step lip colour, and Colour Riche Le Vernis nail colour. Add to that a double movie pass and la vie will most definitely be belle!
To enter email helene@mshelene.com with your name and courier address by Wednesday, February 26 at 12pm and you’re in the draw!

Proudly sponsored by L’Oréal Paris, the French Film Festival is screening at the Rialto Cinemas Newmarket and Berkeley Cinema Takapuna from 27 Feb – 16 March.

Love it: the NARS Nā Pali Coast Multiple

Part of the NARS Spring 2014 collection, the Nā Pali Coast Multiple is the latest version of François Nars' iconic innovation, the original  - and indispensable - multi-purpose stick for eyes, cheeks, lips and body.
This one has an insanely pretty colour and finish, and while NARS described Nā Pali Coast as a "shimmering rose peach" to my eye (and on my lighter olive skin) it's a little more like a beige-y coral with a super flattering satin finish. It definitely warms up my complexion in a totally natural way, looking almost like a light healthy flush when applied sparingly.
The brilliance of the Multiple is that it can be used anywhere on the face and applied with fingers or brushes, blended every which way, layered and or sheered. I tend to use these sticks to the very last drop, and Nā Pali Coast looks like it's going to be another much beloved - and bought again - item.
The unique creamy formula and sheer colour of all the Multiples blends effortlessly to create shimmering accents, clever contours or dynamic highlights on all skin tones. I find it’s best applied with fingertips along the cheekbone and blended with a tapping or smoothing motion. You can dust powder blush over for extra long wear or increased depth of colour, but thus far I love Nā Pali Coast all on its own. Just beautiful!
This baby is available instore and online this Monday at Mecca Cosmetica.

All about: new Trilogy Blemish Control Gel

They are calling it the ‘emergency response unit’ in a tube and Trilogy’s brand new Blemish Control Gel is certainly promising some great things for those unfortunate ‘frenemies’ that sometimes come visit at the most inopportune of times and find it annoyingly hard to leave!
It’s a certified natural gel formulation that has been created to work as a powerful and concentrated treatment for ‘sebaceous follicle blockages’, AKA spots, pimples or zits. Ugh. They happen at any age and at any time, and can be the result of overproduction of sebum caused by hypersensitivity or hormonal imbalance or change, as well as a direct result of stress. All the good stuff!
Anyway, salicylic acid - an extract of willow bark - is included to help to clear congestion and debris, while the natural antibacterial properties of lemongrass and mandarin help control breakouts and aid healing. Add to that cucumber to cool and soothe, ginger to help reduce inflammation and certified organic rosehip oil to help repair skin, and this little baby is a “veritable cocktail of goodness to help deal with the badness”.
You apply the lightweight formula directly to blemishes 1-3 times daily, and it’s a bit of a beauty steal at just RRP $24.90 for a pretty serious cocktail.

Hair how to: Victoria Beckham AW14, by Guido for Redken

Victoria Beckham's AW14 collection stole the show from the moment the models hit the runway, proving to be one of New York Fashion Week's hottest front row tickets - and most hotly-anticipated collections.
Monochrome was the word on everyone’s lips, with the austere palette proving a stark contrast to her vibrant collection of SS14. She kept to her characteristic ultra clean lines and tailoring for dresses, shirts and skirt suits, occasionally flipping the lid with some killer flashes of red to contrast the black and white colour scheme.
Redken Global Styling Director Guido was called in to create the hair look to go with the new collection, and used two key products, satinwear 02 prepping blow-dry lotion and pillow proof blowdry two day extender (available in April in New Zealand, can’t wait!) to create easy, undone hair that is super easy to re-create at home. The hair was slouchy, easy and pure luxury.
"I wanted the hair to be consistent with Victoria's simple and modern collection,” said the super stylist. “The whole idea is to create that ultra-rich and luxurious feeling, without doing much to the hair. The ultimate idea of luxury in the beauty industry has changed dramatically in the last few years. It used to be fantastic and grand, but that doesn't really translate anymore, especially with younger designers like Victoria Beckham. It is all about the subtle details that make a big difference on the end result."
To re-create the look:
1. Apply satinwear 02 prepping blow-dry lotion to damp hair
2. Create a messy centre part
3. Allow hair to dry naturally
4. Wrap the hair around 2" curling iron to create additional movement if necessary
5. Spray pillow proof blowdry two day extender on mid-lengths and ends for added texture
6. Pull hair back into a loose low ponytail and secure with an elastic
Magic! So effortless and yet totally polished…

Love it: Lancôme French Ballerine Rose Highlighter Blush

Landing today and limited edition, this absolutely, ridiculously, almost criminally gorgeous Highlighter Blush is a key element in Lancôme’s beautiful new French Ballerine Spring 2014 collection.
The French Ballerine lineup - with imagery featuring the flawless and dancer-petite actor Lily Collins - is feminine and pretty to the core, and the centrepiece is undoubtedly the Rose Ballerine Highlighter Blush. From the detailed rose on the palette’s powdery surface, to the hot pink bow on the compact’s cover, this is a product that will have you wanting to touch up in public just to bathe in the glow of the covetous looks it will most definitely get.
The texture is a finely milled and cool leaning ‘ballet slipper’ pink hue, with an ultra fine silvery shimmer that is perfectly pretty. While the consistency is a little on the sheer side at first, it can be built up slightly to show more colour – fairer skin types will absolutely love the rosy glow of this blush, but I’ve found that it is more on the highlighter side for my more olive skin. This is what I love most about it, as well as the fact that it lasted a decent six hours plus on first wear. It required several passes with my brush to show clearly on my more-tanned-at-the-moment complexion, but I don’t mind the extra effort, as the delicate shade is not only very complimentary, but blends seamlessly and easily along the skin. The shimmer is only visible when light catches it, and I have fallen in love with using Rose Ballerine a luminous booster over a more matte blush as well as on its own by day. It is most definitely a universally flattering shade of pink, and will work on most skin tones depending on how it is applied.
The French Ballerine Spring 2014 Collection from Lancôme most definitely oozes prettiness, but products like this show it is extremely versatile as well. Love it.

All about: Benefit the POREfessional Agent Zero Shine

A few weeks ago I was invited to the launch of the newest beauty saviour from those very thoughtful types at Benefit, known as the POREfessional Agent Zero Shine.
It’s pretty much an extension on the popular POREfessional Primer formula in the form of a new loose shine control powder that keeps shiny skin at bay while blurring the appearance of pores. Sounds too good to be true? Well actually, it’s not!
In a nutshell, Agent Zero Shine mattifies skin and helps smooth the appearance of pores, and comes in a very clever shaker style jar (like seasoning for your face, if you will). Pop the lid to reveal a type of sifter that sports three larger holes, and then a small twist will open up the jar so you can shake powder into the lid for application. Last up, in the bottom of the barrel you’ll find a buffing brush that fits perfectly into the lid to buff powder onto the brush. Just a small amount of powder sprinkled into the lid allows for really quick touch ups on the go, and the packaging is genius if you like to travel with loose powder rather than pressed.
In practice it does an excellent job blurring the appearance of the pores where needed and just generally perfecting makeup, and gives a clean, almost airbrushed appearance that is pretty damn hard to achieve in more humid climes like ours. Combine it with the original POREfessional Primer and you will have a really nice solid base for your makeup, and if shine isn’t your friend then you most definitely need this in your arsenal for whenever the need arises. Genius.

Valentine’s Day: the decadent Thalgo Indoceane treatment

Thalgo is one of those brands that is absolutely synonymous with luxury, and you can pretty much guarantee that a spa dealing in their delicious treatments will be top notch and a great choice for Valentine’s Day. Or any day for that matter!
Thalgo Indoceane is an in-spa or at-home treat that will send the senses into overload, making it the perfect pick for the yearly celebration of love. The Indoceane Spa Ritual is a two-hour treatment that takes you on four stopovers without needing to queue for a seat – each with divine scents and utilizing - as Thalgo always does - the riches of the sea.
The journey begins with the Mediterranean stopover, where a sweet and savoury scrub (with sea salt and Cassonade sugar from the Mediterranean) is used to exfoliates your bod, then relax ‘on the Nile’ at the Egyptian
stopover as you lounge in a Precious Milk Bath with effervescent sugars . The Indian stopover will melt away your tensions with ultimate massage then last up, your body is cocooned in a Silky Smooth Body Wrap at the Chinese Stopover – a rich cream wrap designed to leave skin infinitely softer and smoother.
You can take the whole shebang home with you too, with some gorgeous products that I have had on high rotate for a week or so now. They include:
Thalgo Sweet and Savoury Scrub - containing a delicious blend of brown sugar, salt and Mediterranean plant essential oils (lemon, mandarin, grapefruit and lemon petit grain) for effective exfoliation and sensational
velvety smooth skin.
Thalgo Precious Milk Bath Effervescent Sugars  - (above, top) the first milky-aroma effervescent bath sugar, which, upon contact with water, transforms into a luxurious, opalescent bath… amazing!
Thalgo Indoceane Silky Smooth Cream - a thick and nourishing cream with elegant notes of Iris and Jasmine
Thalgo Indoceane Relaxing Candle - with spicy notes of Coriander, Cardamom and Incense along with notes of Patchouli.
Pure heaven.

Beauty news: Estée Lauder signs Stephanie Seymour

She was hands down the rock n’ roll favourite supermodel of my youth and along with Axl Rose, one half of my favourite ‘90’s couples - and Stephanie Seymour is most definitely a legend. So I was pretty excited when last week the Estée Lauder brand announced that it has signed the legendary beauty as a spokesmodel to represent them in global advertising campaigns.
“Stephanie is the ultimate modern beauty icon,” said Jane Hertzmark Hudis, Global Brand President, Estée Lauder.  "Beautiful and accomplished in fashion, entertainment and in life, I am thrilled to welcome her to Estée Lauder.”
"I am honored to be part of the Estée Lauder family,” said Stephanie Seymour. “As a young girl my mother had a dream for me and that was to be an Estée Lauder model! So this is truly a dream fulfilled."
Born in San Diego, Stephanie has appeared on hundreds of magazine covers such as Interview, Vogue (American, British, French, Italian, German, and Spanish), Elle, GQ, V Magazine, Numèro, Harper’s Bazaar and Cosmopolitan. She has been shot by the likes of Patrick Demarchelier, Peter Lindbergh, Steven Meisel, Tom Munro, Terry Richardson, David Sims, Mario Sorrenti, MarioTestino, Juergen Teller, Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin and the late, legendary Richard Avedon and is the
longtime muse - and bod - of the influential designer, Azzedine Alaïa.
A major coup for a major brand - well done Estée Lauder, I cannot wait to see the first campaign.

Love it: Kevin Murphy HAIR.RESORT.SPRAY

When it comes to hair, what is more liberating than embracing your natural texture and really letting your hair down? Textured, beachy waves are sexy and relatively effortless, and continue to be a hot trend in the world of hair year after year. Hooray for that! But what happens if you aren’t lucky enough to be frolicking in the sea off some tropical isle? You get your mitts on a texture product like Kevin Murphy Hair.Resort Spray, which has just shot to the top of my ‘must have’ list with a bullet.
The original Hair.Resort was a liquid, and although it smelled totally tropical (tangerine, honey and citrus, to be exact) and was a joy to use, I often put in a bit too much at first once my hair was dry and was left with a stickiness that soon drove me mad. I use it now in damp hair to get the beach texture look, but this brand new non-aerosol spray version is pretty much foolproof used either way. Part-foundation and part-finishing product, it gives you a great natural look with the minimum of time and product. The scent of tangerine makes this spray essential for when you’re missing summer days, and it’s ideal for fine to medium textured hair. It doesn’t contain any fluorocarbons or hydrocarbons and utilises essential oils of tangerine and honey, amino acids, hydrolysed silk and panthenol for body and strength, giving medium hold to your style.
All Murphy’s products are biodegradable, paraben and sulphate-free and contain essential oils that act as bio-catalysts with natural regenerative, moisturising and strengthening properties. The packaging is 100 per cent recyclable and the range is based on an environmentally friendly Australian philosophy – KEVIN.MURPHY supports the Australian Conservation Foundation, which works with the community, business and government to protect, restore and sustain the environment.
The super stylist – and one of the funniest men I’ve every interviewed – was even selected as a Climate Connector by The Al Gore Climate Project a couple of years ago, a non-profit making organisation dedicated to educating the public about the harmful effects of climate change.Ya gotta love that!

Beauty news: JOICO and Hailwood celebrate the release of ‘H by Hailwood’

The highlight of New Zealand Fashion Week 2013 for me was the effortlessly gorgeous, sexy and self assured Hailwood show, with hair by JOICO, directed by D&M darling and all round hair genius, Danny Pato. "This collection is all about winter glamour,” said designer Adrian Hailwood soon after the show - think the modern woman's suit, textured fabrics, rich hologram prints in electric blue, mint and gold beading and some SERIOUS gowns. Adrian also launched his denim range at the show, which had a definite nod to the Seventies and was as sleek and skinny as it gets and yep, I want it ALL!
It is in store and online early March and is set to fly out the door, and JOICO have come to the party to help celebrate the official release of the new denim range henceforth known as ‘H by Hailwood’.
‘H by Hailwood’ is a diffusion line, and boasts a range of jeans in skinny, straight, and more casual cuts as well as cropped jackets and killer vests in various washes of indigos and charcoals. “JOICO is all about turning heads,” said designer Adrian of the collaboration, “which is what I hope women will do when wearing my new denim line.”
And in even better news, JOICO will be giving away pieces from the ‘H by Hailwood’ line on their Facebook page here. Each winner will also receive a JOICO Smooth Cure pack, so get to it.
