As a child, Singapore-born fashion designer Prabal Gurung loved watching his mother get ready for nights out after work. There is a confidence that comes with a bare face transformed by a few swipes of mascara and lip gloss, the designer has said, that he’s always found inspiring.
He has partnered with M.A.C for years to get his models runway-ready for his Fashion Week shows, so it was no surprise that when the designer announced he has partnered with an iconic makeup brand for a full-blown beauty collection it was the legendary M.A.C.
“Creating this line has certainly been emotional for me,” Gurung said in a statement. “I think back to the beauty products on my mother’s vanity that I saw growing up and how much they resonated with me. It’s pretty incredible to be in a position to now be developing my own.”
Two years in the making, the line features an absolutely killer bronzing powder, eye shadow duo, lipstick and more, and is designed to exude the same feeling of luxury and beauty that Gurung brings to each and every one of his collections.
The packaging of the products itself is inspired by the jewelled minaudieres of the 1920’s, making them far too beautiful to stay in your bathroom cabinet or handbag by half. Intended to “make a woman feel beautiful even before she puts the makeup on”, Gurung said that each piece was designed to “enhance” the natural beauty of the wearer. As with his clothing collections, Gurung said he wanted the makeup collection to represent what the person actually wearing the makeup “stands for…I’ve always been interested in intelligent, beautiful women who are aware of the space they occupy and the relationship they have with fashion and the world, not just herself.”

With much excitement the L’Oréal Paris family last week welcomed leggy catwalk heroine Karlie Kloss as the brand’s newest international beauty ambassador. At the tender age of 22 the American supermodel has a dazzling career most women can only dream of. And now the catwalk queen, style icon and Victoria's Secret angel has added another string to her beautiful bow, and was reportedly chosen by the French beauty giant because of her powerful walk, unique freshness and amazing energy.
“On catwalks where she catches lights with such intensity, through brilliant studies or a hectic New Yorker life, Karlie is definitely the perfect combination between grace and modernity, intelligence and hard work. L’Oréal Paris is all about inspiring women making the best of their whole potential,” said Cyril Chapuy, L’Oréal Paris Brand Global President of the appointment.
Previously a student at the prestigious Caston’s Ballet School, while still a teen she turned her neverending legs and atypical beauty into an inimitable signature that made heads turn. After Karlie was scouted by Teen Vogue in 2008, hot shot photographers and designers such as Bruce Weber, David Sims and Marc Jacobs put her on the map, and the rest - as they say - is history.
In 2012 she became an working with charity projects helping needy children all around the world.
“I have always believed that you have to be confident in yourself. Anything can happen if you really work at it. Never give up. This for me is what L’Oréal Paris does. This is why I am so proud to join this inspiring team,” says Karlie on the new partnership with the brand.

In late October Yves Saint Laurent launches Black Opium onto New Zealand counters, a new fragrance announced as a truly rock n' roll interpretation of the legendary classic. Designed to highlight the darker, more mysterious side of the YSL brand, it grabbed at my heart strings from first sniff and I have been wearing it on a rather regular basis since it arrived on my desk.
Master perfumers Nathalie Lorson and Marie Salamagne, in collaboration with Olivier Cresp and Honorine Blanc, developed the composition, which is actually softer on the nose than I expected. Notes of coffee, present in large quantities, dominate the scent. Additional accords are pink pepper, orange blossom, jasmine, vanilla, patchouli and cedar. At odds with the heady original Opium scent, launched by Saint Laurent in 1977, Black Opium is a more of a gourmand floral fragrance, which opens with a strong coffee bean accord before developing with the aforementioned white flowers, vanilla, cedar and patchouli. It will make it the perfect spring an summer fragrance for after hours, and a dedicated daily once the cooler months come rolling around again.
The perfume comes in the same bottle designed as the last edition of the iconic Opium collection, but dark and decorated with sequins to give it a grittier, more urban and definitely glam rock look.
In an absolutely stellar move, the face of the perfume's campaign is British model Edie Campbell, shot by Daniel Wolfe. YVES SAINT LAURENT BEAUTÉ cites the inspiration for its new fragrance, as a woman who is "elegant, stylish and with a piercing intelligence and languorous beauty," - making Edie Campbell a fairly sensible choice IMHO. With an art history degree under her belt, a talent for the equestrian and a genuine interest in every fragrance, dress, bag or pair of sunglasses that she represents, Campbell fits the bill on every level and has a personal style that fits perfectly with the brand.
Black Opium is available as 30, 50 and 90 ml Eau de Parfum and is quite possibly destined to be as much of a modern classic as the legendary original. Love it.Tweet

Hydrates like a lip balm, comforts like a lipstick, shines like a gloss? That’s the rundown on Clarins’ beautiful new limited edition Lip Balm Crayons that are going to be a MAJOR deal this summer.
I love easy to wear lip colours by day that don't require a mirror and a steady hand for even application. These beauties by Clarins tick all the boxes and I have been using them a lot since they landed on my desk. They come in six shades and are formulated with mango, apricot, and shea butters to make them super moisturising and a dream to use.
As well as Creamy Pink, Delicious Plum, Soft Coffee, Tender Coral and Sweet Cherry these chubby pencils also come in a very special formula, just called My Pink. Housed in a twist up and retractable format, 01 My Pink (the lightest of the six available) goes on clear, but within moments begins to change, as it adapts to the ph levels of your lips. It boosts the natural colour of your lips so is universally flattering - it really is your pink - and the long-lasting hydrating feel goes on and on.
With a warm vanilla fragrance that becomes relatively unnoticeable upon application, the feel of this balm is buttery and smooth upon the lips, and happily totally non-sticky. It feels like chubby lip pencils are everywhere at this point but not all are created equal, and I’m quietly excited that Clarins is taking on the trend. It is such an under hyped brand and I love the fact that they are doing something a little fun for Summer that just may get them a legion of new fans.
The only downside to this release? The fact that they are limited edition! Get in quick and stock up, you never know how long you’ll have to wait to see them grace the counters again…

Always one of my absolute favourite shows at Milan Fashion Week, this season’s outing by the incredible Dolce & Gabbana was flawless as per. As well as highly covetable, sexy and just plain amazing.
The hair look created by Redken Global Styling Director Guido was a perfect match, and was inspired by “the modern-day Spanish woman”. He created a feminine, soft updo that captured the essence of the classic Dolce & Gabbana woman using Redken’s Signature Look Wind Blown 05 dry finishing spray to add airy texture to the hair before pulling it back into a loose bun with an effortless feeling. To finish the look, Guido adorned each model’s hair with rich floral arrangements and jewel-encrusted crowns - long a signature runway style look for Dolce & Gabbana that I can only dream of one day recreating.
“This look is very classically Dolce,” said the super stylist. “It’s very soft, pretty and feminine – how girls want to look. I created these soft chignons with a Spanish feeling by using Redken’s Signature Look Wind Blown 05 dry finishing spray to create texture throughout the hair, and then pulled the hair back over the ears into a low, loose, sort of messy bun. It could look severe, but I’m doing it with my fingers to make it much softer for an overall feeling that’s very rich and luxurious.”
To create the look yourself:
1. Thoroughly mist Redken Pillow Proof Express Primer all over damp hair and comb through.
2. Apply a nickel-size amount of Redken Satinwear 02 Prepping Blow Dry Lotion throughout damp hair and blow-dry smooth with a round brush.
3. Create a clean centre part with fingers.
4. Spray Redken Signature Look Wind Blown 05 dry finishing spray all over hair to add airy texture.
5. Pull hair over the ears and back into a loose bun.
6. Twist the ponytail to create a messy knot and secure with small U-pins. Leave a few bits of hair sticking out from the bun to achieve a softer look.

Legendary supermodel Stephanie Seymour has been revealed as the (spectacular) face of Estée Lauder’s recently reformulated Re-Nutriv Ultimate Diamond Sculpting/Refinishing Dual Infusion, a stellar serum that amazingly improves on the original with the addition of Black Diamond Truffle extract. Lauder scientists brilliantly developed the Black Diamond Truffle into an extract that when added to the original, already popular formula is skincare perfection. From when nature’s rare treasure is first born to finished elixir, each precious drop of the Black Diamond Truffle Extract is 10,000 hours in the making and results thus far have been outstanding.
But back to Seymour, who’s face was on my walls in the early nineties like a rock star, and who today still has all that it takes to most definitely be called ‘super’.
What does Re-Nutriv represent to you?
There’s a wonderful history to the Re-Nutriv line and I feel it epitomises Estée Lauder’s perception of what women wanted in her day and what we still want today – to take care of our skin and use luxurious items.
What is your first memory of Estée Lauder?
My mother was a beauty maven, and, when I was 13, she told me she wanted me to be the next Estée Lauder model. At the time, I think Karen Graham was the only representative of Estée Lauder, and my mom would tell me – “you should be the next Estée Lauder model.” When I got the call from Estée Lauder – the first thing I did was call my mother and she couldn’t believe I remembered what she used to say to me. I am so happy I could make not only my dreams come true, but hers as well.
What does beauty mean to you?
Beauty is to understand what your strengths are: if you have a great mouth, play it up; if you have beautiful hair, do not cut it off. It’s not just one thing, though. As a model you are constantly judged for your exterior, but I think who you are as a person—and also the way you take care of yourself and how you respect and appreciate other people—is most important.
What is your skincare routine?
I’m most specific about my nighttime routine, but, during the day, sunscreen is 100 per cent the most important thing on my mind. When I was growing up, my mother was all about sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen! All my friends were getting sun burnt I was not allowed to. I wasn’t even allowed to get a tan.
At night, I try to exfoliate, usually with an exfoliating cleanser, every other day. In between, I use just a basic cleanser. Then I apply a serum. I’ve been using the new Re-Nutriv Ultimate Diamond Dual Infusion serum recently. From there, I apply a moisturiser and eye creme. I also like to do a mask at least once a week.
What do you like best about new Re-Nutriv Ultimate Diamond Sculpting/Refinishing Dual Infusion?
I feel so luxurious when I use the new serum. I also love the packaging, but it’s not about that, it’s about what’s in the product. I love the way the two elixirs are separate and then merge together. Every woman should treat herself to luxurious formulas that not only feel incredible, but also show results. I love how my skin looks with the new serum.
Do you have any tips on how to apply Re-Nutriv Ultimate Diamond Sculpting/Refinishing Dual Infusion?
My tip would be not to forget your neck. As a younger woman, I neglected this area and I’ve paid the price. After I mix the product together in my hand and apply over my face, I make sure to put it also on my neck and décolleté. The serum isn’t greasy, so you can use it morning and night. I love the smell in particular – it’s so fresh!
How has your beauty routine evolved as you’ve gotten older?
I try to let a lot of things go. I think I look good for my age. I’m never going to look like I did ten years ago or ten years before that, but I don’t think I want to. I’m happy being the age I am. But I think as you age, taking care of yourself is really key. It’s so beautiful to see a woman that’s aged naturally.
How do you feel about getting older?
I try not to think about it. I try to just take care of myself. It is what it is. We all age. But this is a beautiful time for women—whether you’re in your late thirties, forties, fifties, sixties—women really blossom. To look through fashion magazines and only see twenty year old girls…even when I was twenty years old I didn’t get that. I always liked the diversity and I’m glad the public is responding to that.
What is some beauty advice that you would share with other women?
I’ve realised now that you don’t look healthy and glowing unless you take care of yourself. This is something my mother taught me – you don’t just put one cream on and think it’s going to work. You’ve got to do it every night, body treatments, beauty treatments. This is one of the reasons why I respect my mother so much. You use the right, beautiful products on your face, you get facials, you exercise, you eat right – I look at my mother all the time and say I wish I was like her, but I continue to try so that’s the most I can do.
How do you indulge yourself in your free time?
My biggest indulgence is taking time for myself. Taking time to get a facial or go shopping for beauty products because as a mother I feel guilty doing that. I’m sure it’s because I had such a great mother who was with me 24 hours a day. She did teach me to take care of myself, and that is my greatest indulgence and when I do that I feel like myself. I feel human again.
I feel beautiful when I’m happy. I feel good when I go to bed. No matter what happens to me in the day I like to wash my face and put on something pretty so that I go to bed feeling good about myself. I don’t ever go to bed with something horrible on my mind or feeling bad about myself. I try to resolve it before that so that when I wake up the next morning I’m not burdened and I can feel good about myself again.
What do you do to stay in shape?
I swim, ride and do Pilates – and I do a lot of gardening, which can be a pretty good workout. I just do a little bit every other day, around 30 minutes. I don’t mind having a feminine figure, I like the female form and I don’t want to look cut – I just want to feel good and stay toned. If you do have curves –and after four children, I do have them – I think you have to embrace them. It’s a big part and one of the beauties of being a woman.

The minute images of the recent Alberta Ferretti SS15 show start popping up on Instagram, I started #regramming like a madwoman. Vogue UK described the Milan Fashion Week outing for the popular designer as “like opening the gates to the Garden of Eden and seeing what lies behind. Well, a tribe of bohemian nymphs in sheer barely pink coloured gowns with petal appliqué, of course…” and it was a true joy to behold.
The hair look to go with was by Guido, Redken Global Styling Director, who played up Ferretti’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection with a natural, hippy-inspired hairstyle for the runway. To achieve this beautiful, undone look, Guido used Redken’s Signature Look Fashion Waves 07 Sea Salt Spray and a curling iron to create the perfect combination of a natural, undone texture and feminine waves. In a word: perfection.
“At this moment in time, easy hair feels the most modern, and that’s the overall feeling we get with this hairstyle,” he said. “The Alberta Ferretti girl is kind of a hippie, but still very feminine and soft, so I left the hair a bit natural, with some nice chunky texture and loose curls. I sprayed Redken’s Signature Look Fashion Waves 07 Sea Salt Spray throughout the hair, and then used two different sized curling irons to add more movement. Then, I applied more of Redken’s Signature Look Fashion Waves 07 Sea Salt Spray to pull out the curls a bit, creating that nice matte texture.”
To create the look:
1. Start with clean hair by washing with Redken Diamond Oil Shampoo and Conditioner.
2. Rough blow-dry, and then create a messy centre part using fingers.
3. Use a round brush to blow-dry the front of the hair until smooth.
4. Spray Redken Signature Look Fashion Waves 07 Sea Salt Spray throughout the hair to create some texture.
5. Create additional movement by loosely wrapping underside pieces of hair around a half-inch curling iron and face-framing pieces around a 1-inch curling iron.
6. Apply another mist of Redken Signature Look Fashion Waves 07 Sea Salt Spray throughout the hair to pull out some of the curl.

I’ve been forgoing concealer of late, mainly due to the fact that most formulas settle most unattractively into the fine lines under my eyes, and I’m lucky enough (*touching wood*) not to be prone to blemishes. However, since having a decent play with it I can officially declare M.A.C’s new Matchmaster Concealer is my new favourite concealer of the moment.
Available in a generous tweleve shades, it comes housed in a chunky swivel up stick design. MAC uses the same shade intelligence technology in this concealer as they used in their super popular Matchmaster Foundation SPF 15, so I imagine if you like and use that foundation you’ll be beyond happy with the coverage the concealer provides. It uses breakthrough pigment technology to create a fully personalised, subtle satin finish, and Vitamin E is in there to condition as the concealer reduces the appearance of under eye circles, dark spots, discolouration, fine lines and wrinkles.
I’ve found that the formula is pretty thick but with a creamy, emollient feel and a smooth, satin finish. Under drier eyes you’ll find it tugs a little bit during application, but if you take the time to prep well you should have no issue with it, and it is highly customisable as you can go heavier or sheerer depending on what you need.
I’ve also found that it gives excellent coverage and wears really well for a solid 8 to 10 hours without creasing or fading. You just really have to know how to apply it correctly to appreciate it best, but once you have nailed that the world will be your oyster. For me, starting with a heavily moisturised under eye area is key along with a quality brush to thin out the consistency and boom - great finish that last, and lasts…

When it comes to wearable, beautiful and - most importantly IMHO - flattering makeup collections, Bobbi Brown must be up there with the best, if not the best. The latest offering from the US-born makeup and skincare powerhouse is the Smokey Nudes collection, which is guaranteed to be a sell out from the moment that it hits the counter.
The star of the collection is the Smokey Nudes Eye Palette (below), which is an insanely versatile eye shadow palette that conveniently creates smokey eye looks that work for both day and night. In their words, “simply layer the shadows until you get the intensity you want”, using the eight mix-and match shades in soft matte, sparkle and metallic finishes for different looks. It is pretty much foolproof to use so suitable even for smokey eye beginners, and the eye looks it creates are insanely wearable and the shades applicable for pretty much every skin tone. The experts say to start with a “classic Bobbi eye” - a light allover shadow, medium lid shadow, dark liner - and then layer Sparkle Eye Shadow on top. From there on the options are endless, and you can get as intense as you like with added liner and dramatic mascara (Bobbi’s Smokey Eye mascara is one of the best formulas I have ever used). I think this palette is a brand new essential, and a great option for those fairer types who want to rock a smokey eye but usually can’t without things getting a little too dramatic, as well as for people like me who like to create a daytime ‘eye’ from time to time that has a little oomph but is still flattering and pretty. Love it.
As well as a limited edition Shimmer Brick in Sandstone, the collection also includes four brand new takes on Bobbi's revolutionary lipstick - Creamy Matte Lip Color, which expertly combines the look of a classic matte lip with incredible wearability and is a true joy to behold. Creamy and moisturising, I have several of these babies and they feel light-as-air on the lips. They also stick around for up to eight hours, and the new nude shades are to die for - I can’t wait to try them out in store, most likely leaving with all four!

I love a multitasking product as you know, and lip and cheek tints are often some of the best buys out there when they are created by great brands. One I have discovered of late - and fallen head over heels for - is ModelCo's CHEEK & LIPS, which is reportedly one of ambassador Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s top picks (if it gives me her cheekbones and lips too I’ll let you know!).
Housed in a small-but-perfectly formed tube, it is a lightweight, dual-purpose cheek and lip tint that delivers a “natural, rosy (Rosie?) glow”. It comes in the form of a long-lasting gel formulation that glides on super smoothly, and with careful application you’ll end up with the perfect amount of sheer colour for just-flushed cheeks and a lightly stained lip. It’s the perfect summer and on holiday product, and was one of my top picks when I was off to Bali as it gives a great "no makeup" look with a subtle hint of colour that brightens the complexion like you wouldn’t believe. ModelCo say that you can combine it with their SHINE Lip Gloss for a softer, glossy lip, but I love its natural, dewy colour all on its own.
To apply, start by using a brush or your finger to dab a small about of CHEEK & LIPS onto the apple of your cheeks and lightly blend. It dries quickly (and seriously lasts) so you want to get things right from the get-go. Start small and build is my advice. To apply to your lips, once again start by lightly dabbing with your fingers and rub off any excess tint from your fingertips ASAP, as it can temporarily stain.
So there you go - one of my favourite products right now and one that will only get more use as the warmer weather heats up - guaranteed!Tweet

In their words, tanning masters St. Tropez followed UK designer Julien Macdonald “into the deep blue sea” at London Fashion Week, creating a shimmering glow to accompany his collection that has been called the “SS15 Mermaid Gleam”.
St. Tropez Global Tanning and Skin Finishing expert Nicholas Joss said of the look, “think shimmer, gloss and iridescence. This is gorgeous, healthy skin that comes with a watery sheen to give our girls an otherworldly beauty.”
To recreate the look yourself using some of the brand’s new and much-applauded products:
- 1Start by massaging the new St. Tropez Self Tan Face Oil (launching March 2015) into the face and allow it to absorb well before applying makeup. You won’t need much of the latter due to the former’s killer glow.

Everything that home fragrance house and bodycare brand ECOYA do is absolutely flawless in my opinion - from killer scents to beautiful events and gorgeous and surprising imagery, they seriously hit the nail on the head. Every time.
They are also always updating and refreshing what they do - which I equally love - in the form of delicious limited edition scents and gifting ideas, and now their new imagery has been revealed and damn, she is gorgeous.
ECOYA, who now sell a product around the world every 45 seconds, worked with fashion photographer - and all round gorgeous woman - Olivia Hemus to create the new brand shots, which were styled by ex Fashion Quarterly Fashion Editor Rachel Morton. The images produced were created to portray the ECOYA customer or ‘family’, which included New Zealand international model Vinny Woolston, Helena Mitchell and Mercy Brewer, Australian model Sapphire De Goede and seriously fierce American model Brigitte Buckholtz.
The set was designed by One Lovely Day, and was created by picking up on fragrance notes used throughout the ECOYA collection, with cracked coconuts, midnight orchids and jasmine adorning the set.
Claire Barnes, ECOYA Sales & Marketing Director says: “We recently had a huge packaging refresh and we needed to create some new imagery to use across all our marketing collateral. We wanted it to reflect how the brand has evolved and grown.
“We are really happy with the new imagery and feel it reflects the brand beautifully. It’s clean, it’s smart, it’s sexy, it’s sophisticated. We believe that is our DNA.”

I’m a BIG fan of wearing OPI GelColor on both my fingers and my toes, and always get pretty damn excited when new colours are released onto the market. One collection that I’ve really fallen head over heels for of late is the new Nordic Collection of polishes and gels, which is a sea of twelve beautiful new shades that have to be seen to be believed!

It was always going to be wondrous news when Diptyque announced they would be creating body products, then even more exciting when the iconic French brand said that it is in the market for reinventing facial beauty treatments with its Art du Soin range, a new beauty line bringing innovative new textures to skincare.
If you haven’t tried it yet then be prepared for a whole new sensory experience from Diptyque's first foray into facial products, which combines high performance, unique products with ultra-chic scents. I love all of it, from the soft, Damask rose-scented Infused Facial Water that douses the skin in a healthy dose of vitamins and minerals (which I added to my ‘must buy’ list after trying it in store at Mecca Cosmetica), to the Radiance Boosting Powder, a white clay scattered with petals that changes to a light mousse when mixed with water.
I’ve been using the latter on a regular basis and have fallen head over heels in love with it, in particular its amazing texture. It combines natural white clay powder, which purifies and remineralises skin, with powdered rose, jasmine, and neroli petals. With a splash of water and a touch of the special foam ball, the beautiful scented powder amazingly turns into a creamy lather that leaves skin clean and clear.
To use, just moisten your hands and face with warm water then place one dose (approximately a half-teaspoon) carefully in your palm and work the powder into a creamy lather with the ball. Gently massage face with small, circular movements, avoiding the eye area. Rinse with warm water or soak a washcloth in warm water and gently wipe et voila - sparkling clean skin!
Apparently when mixed with the Infused Facial Water it becomes a light and airy froth with more concentrated infusions, making it particularly suited to skin with special care needs.
Other beautiful products in the range include a Nourishing Cleansing Balm with floral wax that transforms into oil at your fingertips (LOVE the sound of that_, or the Multi-Use Exfoliating Clay with exfoliating properties guaranteed to be gentle on the skin. Every time I am lucky enough to find myself in stunning Queenstown – I swear it’s like looking at a chocolate box photo every corner you turn – I make sure I take some time to visit the always-wonderful Spring Spa, which conveniently opened in Auckland in the last twelve months as well. Both destinations are most definitely of the “happy place” variety, and I recommend them to everyone I meet who is looking for some dedicated “me” time.
Spring is the stroke of genius of the always-charming and ridiculously clever Ina Bajaj, the creator of the world-renowned East Day Spa. So despite the fact that they are quite a different beauty destination to East, they provide the same high standards of treatment and superior levels of service East is famous for, but with what they call “a Spring spin”.
Anyway, when I travelled to Bali a couple of weeks ago for ten days of island bliss, at the top of my to-do list was a trip to the incredible new Spring location recently opened there. Situated in the ever-popular Petitenget area, Spring’s new Bali location opened its doors in May. Designed by acclaimed designer Derek Lockwood of Saatchi & Saatchi Design Worldwide, Spring Bali has several areas that extend their current offering further, including a DJ Booth, drinks bar and private relaxation area. While spas have always been a major traveller’s drawcard for Bali, the Spring experience is unlike any other, with Spring’s familiar offering of pedicures and manicures, along with a popular Bali crème and blow wave bar, after-sun treatments and an array of Bliss beauty products. Feet were originally the main focus at Spring, but they offer everything from massage to reflexology and pedicures as well as a whole bunch of add-on's so you can customise your treatment to your needs. They also offer stellar manicures, threading and waxing as well as packages to remedy your jetlag or help you recover from a hard day next to the pool, and facials that sound seriously good.
I spent a blissful couple of hours on site having a Signature massage and then reflexology (both 10 out of 10 and then some), then floated out for some conveniently close by shopping and lunch at Motel Mexicola. Having experienced more than my fair share of spa treatments in Bali I can confidently say that my Spring experience was quite possibly the best, with not a detail overlooked and top notch service from beginning to end. I seriously didn’t want to leave, and am already racking my brain for a way to go back… ASAP!

One of my favourite shows from New York Fashion Week thus far has been Victoria Beckham, who in my eyes can do no wrong. The collection was both unexpected and beautiful, and she collaborated with Guido, Redken Global Styling Director to create the perfect hair look to add an easy, sophisticated feeling to the runway alongside her designs. Using only one key product, Redken’s Signature Look Wind Blown 05 dry finishing spray, Guido created the perfect nonchalant, super natural hairstyle to complement Victoria’s ultra modern, uber feminine collection.
“Victoria’s style is so modern and beautiful that I didn’t want to bring too much attention to the hair, and this natural look felt the most modern for this collection,” he has said. “There was a time when a blowout would have been considered a luxury, and it is very luxurious, but that kind of look on the runway can seem dated. The style at Victoria Beckham is very easy and undone, which created a more modern feeling. I let the hair dry naturally, created a messy side part with my fingers, and then used Redken’s Signature Look Wind Blown 05 dry finishing spray to texturize and lift the roots a bit. I also used a wide-barrel curling iron, taking random clumps of hair and bending them around the iron to add body where needed.”
To create the look - effortlessly - yourself:
1. Start with dry, natural hair.
2. Spray Redken Signature Look Wind Blown 05 dry finishing spray all over hair to add texture and light body.
3. Create a messy, natural side part with fingers.
4. Take random sections of hair and bend around a 1inch curling iron (or larger) to create natural body.
5. Lightly tousle hair with fingers and finish with a thorough mist of Redken Signature Look Wind Blown 05 dry finishing spray for additional texture.
