When M.A.C meets Iris Apfel, rare bird

To say I’m excited about the – very – limited edition Iris Apfel-inspired collection by M.A.C would be an understatement. The self-confessed “geriatric starlet” is one of the wrold’s most seriously stylish women, and an eccentric in the truest sense of the word.
Her style has inspired books, jewellery ranges, museum exhibitions and many a student's embarkation on a career in fashion, and now at the tender age of 90, she is taking on the world of make-up. On counter on January 5, the collection is made up of 20 products that include brow, eye, and lip pencils, lipsticks, nail polishes, mascara and eye shadows. The colours will range from juicy tangerine to tantalizing turquoise, all with incredibly fun, creative names (think Loudmouth Orange, Howzat and Party Parrot, for straters).
In a recent press release, M.A.C. stated that Apfel has long been an inspiration. She's someone who "boldly mixed flea market finds with haute couture decades before doing it was considered de rigueur." The nonagenarian is still going strong, looking fabulous and definitely a rare bird who has always been ahead of her time. This collection is set to be a hit, so get saving now!
