Meet: Viv from Revival Massage Therapy

I love a good massage, as much for the relaxation aspect as its boost to my general wellbeing. Experts estimate that upwards of ninety per cent of disease is stress related, and perhaps nothing ages us faster, internally and externally, than high stress. While eliminating anxiety and pressure altogether in this fast-paced world may be idealistic, massage can, without a doubt, help manage it, and a having a great massage therapist is as important to me as a great doctor. As well as helping with my permanently dodgy back and shoulders that are tight beyond belief, a good massage leaves me feeling energised and focused, as well as relaxed as they come.
I recently was lucky enough to be introduced to the healing hands of Viv Butler, owner and massage therapist at Revival Massage Therapy, which is conveniently in the same spot as my Pilates classes, re:ab. Viv holds a Diploma in Therapeutic Massage (2008) and a Certificate in Relaxation Massage (2007) from the New Zealand College of Massage, and is the lucky owner of some seriously good hands for massage. She naturally recognises the importance of regular massage and is motivated by a whole body approach to treating the cause of muscle tension and pain. This approach has been found to effectively relieve soft tissue imbalances and helps with the prevention of injury and Viv thrives on assisting people with sport maintenance massage and trigger points as well as general wellness massage.
She and her fellow stars at Revival Massage Therapy work with Therapeutic and Remedial massage as well as the likes of Deep Tissue and Sports massage, and customise every treatment to what you need. I love the fact that you can book with them online, and that you receive 15 minutes free massage if you refer a friend to Revival Massage Therapy. That means a whole hour free if you send four friends! If you’re in need of a treat – or just some time out – I recommend that you make their acquaintance ASAP!
