I try: the Skinsmiths B12 Hydrating Facial at Caci Wynyard Quarter

If you’re based in Tāmaki Makaurau like I am, you’ll know that last Friday was a shocker, weather-wise. Torrential rain blowing in a sideways direction, mini tornadoes popping off left, right and centre, and plummeting temperatures to boot. However all that didn’t stop me from making my way down to Wynyard Quarter in the name of beauty journalism, where I was lucky enough to be booked in with Bernadette at Caci Wynyard for the Skinsmiths B12 Hydrating Facial. To say that it was exactly what the doctor ordered would be putting it mildly – and it was more than worth the chaotic journey there!

Dubbed a “30-minute facial treatment where relaxation meets results” by Caci, it was a mix of old school, high touch beauty treatment and next gen skin formulas, with the relaxation factor dialled all the way up. Bernadette began with a gentle cleanse to remove any traces of makeup or debris, using the Skinsmiths B12 Multi-Cleanser, an all-in-one makeup removing formula that starts as a gel and transforms into a milky oil helping to remove makeup and impurities. In her hands it felt like a dream, melting with ease and oh so gentle.

Next up was an enzymatic exfoliation under steam that softly dissolves dead skin cells, using the Skinsmiths Enzyme Polishing Powder that I confess I already owned but hadn’t actually used yet. That soon changed, and now it has become a favourite in my routine! Steaming helps to detoxify the skin and boost circulation while the enzymes actively exfoliate, boosting results and leaving skin feeling shiny and new.

The B12 Hydrating Face Mask followed, enveloping the skin in deep hydration while a relaxing neck and shoulder massage completed the experience -total bliss. The mask is like a nourishing blanket for stressed skin, protecting its barrier, locking in moisture and adding powerful antioxidants. Definitely the dream mid-winter when skin can be feeling the effects of artificial heat, the cold and the wind, transforming it into plump, happy skin ready to take on anything.

Clocking in at around thirty minutes, this facial was such a lovely boost of all that was required plus a little extra relaxation – the dream especially if you’re time poor or just need a little pick me up on a rainy day. It comes highly recommended x
