All about: Northern Peaks, the après ski-coded new winter collection from Glasshouse Fragrances

If you’ve ever visited my home during the winter months, chances are you would have caught the scent of one of many scented candles I have on rotation – perfect for setting the mood, snuggling down and luxuriating in on darker, colder nights. Many of these come courtesy of Glasshouse Fragrances, whose seasonal drops for the cooler months are amongst my absolute favourites from the minute they drop (my love for Fireside in Queenstown knows no bounds, but that’s a story for another day!).
This winter, Glasshouse Fragrances has chosen to transport us all to one of the most picturesque places on earth – Canada’s breathtaking alpine wilderness – via two, completely unique and utterly beautiful new scents. The collection, dubbed Northern Peaks, is a sensorial journey told through fragrance, art and atmosphere - mirrored lakes that stretch beneath snow-dusted peaks rising into crisp blue skies, and the quiet stillness that only nature can provide.
Featuring two 380g Soy Candles and, for the first time, an Interior Fragrance and pine tree-shaped Paper Diffuser, the two new scents are:

BREATHTAKING BANFF: Fig Leaf & Maple Wood

Fresh Green Fig Leaf enlivens the crisp alpine air, while the delicious, sweet fecundity of Caramelised Fig and warm Maple Wood waft from below, where the lake is fringed by canopies of autumnal gold.

Middle notes: Caramelised Figs, Osmanthus
Base notes: Tonka, Vanilla, Coconut, Maple Wood

CHALET CHIC: Amberwood & Oud

Freesia and Jasmine smell as pretty as the snow sparkling outside, while delectable Caramel and evocative, spicy-floral Tabac Blossom add to the luxe après-ski vibe.

As with all Glasshouse Fragrances special releases, Northern Peaks pairs olfactory storytelling with visual artistry. Created in collaboration with Toronto-based illustrator Gary Alphonso, the collection showcases hand-crafted illustrations inspired by early 20th-century wood engravings. Each design captures the raw elegance of Canada’s northern wilderness, turning every vessel into a miniature piece of collectible art.
“Northern Peaks was inspired by the stunning landscapes of Canada’s northern wilderness. It smells like Green Leaves and ripened dried Figs with a waft of Vanilla pod. It’s magnificent. All you have to do is pop open the tree and spray it generously for a burst of this wonderful scent.”
“The second fragrance in the Northern Peaks collection is Chalet Chic. This fragrance transports you straight into your luxurious mountain log cabin complete with floor to ceiling windows so you can take in the magnificent views. The fragrance itself is cosy and comforting and smells of Clove Bud infused Spiced Rum with Oud, and there are some beautiful Patchouli and Vanilla notes holding it all together at the base.”
