All about: Dermalogica's new Magnetic[+] AfterGlow Cleanser
There are few things more satisfying than taking off a full face of makeup at the end of the day (or night), and your choice of cleanser can make a real difference to how easily that happens, and how good your skin feels afterwards. Cleansers help create the perfect clean slate for the serums, oils or moisturiser to follow, and a wardrobe of heavenly formulas coupled with a ritual approach just may be the ultimate in skincare self-care.
With what I like to call a “suite” of them always on hand, it’s safe to say I can’t get enough of beautiful, efficacious cleansers – and be they in cream, oil, balm or milk form, I believe every cleanser has its place and a time of year when it comes into its own.
All of which brings me to the latest formula I’ve added to my haul – the new to Dermalogica, Magnetic[+] AfterGlow Cleanser. Overlooking unnecessary ingredients and full-of-fluff claims, Dermalogica has long focused on results worth shouting about, and even their cleansing lineup is as high performing as it is beautiful to use. The new Magnetic[+] AfterGlow Cleanser is no different, a revolutionary, ultra creamy cleanser that acts like a magnet to help skin retain moisture and leaves skin feeling refreshed, hydrated, and prepped for the next steps in your skin care routine.
Why a ‘magnetic’ cleanser?
Your skin’s surface carries a natural negative charge, which is one of the challenges in getting active ingredients to cling to it while they go to work. The team at Dermalogica recognised this, which is why they formulated Magnetic[+] Afterglow Cleanser with positively-charged Hyaluronic Acid: it acts like a magnet, helping skin to retain moisture more effectively. It also prepares skin for the next steps in your regimen – helping you get more out of the formulas that follow.
What’s in there?
Cleansing Murumuru Seed Butter and Oat are two of my favourite natural ingredients, and in this formula they work to help soften skin and gently rinse away impurities. A Phyto Mucin Blend (a plant-based alternative to snail mucin, which is known for its hydrating and skin-repairing properties) with Lotus Root Extract and 10% Glycerin acts like a magnet to attract moisture and optimise your routine, while Cellular HydraBond Technology with the aforementioned positively-charged Hyaluronic Acid helps retain hydration like a magnet for a glowing skin barrier.
My takeaway
Delivering a refreshing cleanse that deposits long-lasting hydration and impressive nutrients, I’m excited to add this baby to my routine. Recommended for all skin types but especially good for dehydrated skin, I think this will definitely come into its own as we head further into winter when the drier atmosphere, cooler temperatures and wind can play havoc with your barrier and moisture levels.
