Love it: La Prairie Crystal Micellar Water - Eyes Face

A skincare brand known for its groundbreaking products, La Prairie is often at the forefront of research into new scientific innovations for those that worship at its sleek silver altar. It also prides itself on highly active products targeting very specific concerns, and carries the mantle of “the Rolls Royce of skincare brands” very well. Its premium offering comes at an equally premium price point, but they even take the most simple of offerings and elevate it to something really rather special indeed.
This is most definitely the case when it comes to La Prairie’s Crystal Micellar Water - Eyes Face, which takes the humble favourite of models and makeup artists and creates something super luxe that goes above and beyond its peers.
Micellar waters first gained momentum in Paris, whose skin-conscious inhabitants welcomed the opportunity to swerve the bad effects that the city's famously hard water had on their skin. I have always picked a couple of bottles up when I visit family in France, and love the way they work. Designed to be swept away with a cotton pad rather than rinsed off, micellar waters use tiny micelle particles to draw make-up (including waterproof mascara), sebum and impurities from the skin. Depending upon how much make-up you wear you may prefer to remove eye make-up separately, but since micellar waters are free of soap and alcohol they are a way more gentle alternative to harsh face wipes, making them perfect for when you're in a rush or on the go. They are also ‘multi-zone’ products as they remove make-up from the face, eyes and lips and don’t require water, so great for travel and at the gym et al.
La Prairie's Crystal Micellar Water – Eyes Face is formulated as what the brand calls a “one-gesture ritual”; a combination of Liquid Crystal technology and Swiss glacier water to leave skin perfectly pristine without the elbow grease and unnecessary tugging. I love that it is super gentle on skin but literally wipes away makeup in the blink of an eye, all without drying the skin. It definitely keeps the super delicate eye area calm during makeup removal, whilst the hydrating blend including Liposomal Glacier Water helps maintain skin's moisture level.
While the demands of the day can sometimes mean less time for a full cleansing ritual, removing makeup, pollutants and other impurities remains essential for maintaining youthful-looking, healthy skin. This beauty makes that so much easier, and can be used morning and night all over the face. An ideal, light and effective morning cleanser, it works hard refreshing and moisturising the skin while eliminating any oils that have built up over night before you start you skincare ritual. To use at night, dispense the liquid onto a cotton pad and sweep over the forehead, nose, cheeks and chin until pads no longer show signs of makeup or impurities. To remove eye makeup in particular, dispense product onto a cotton pad and gently press over one eye. Wait for a few seconds to allow the formula to begin dissolving eye makeup. Gently sweep the cotton pad from the inner to outer corner. Repeat on the other eye using a fresh pad.
Suitable for all skin types and available right now, La Prairie Crystal Micellar Water - Eyes Face comes in a 150ml bottle with an RRP of $200. It’s most definitely super luxe, and comes highly recommended.
