Christmas countdown: Moët, Veuve, Dom.. champagne all round!

For me champagne will always be synonymous with celebration and happy times - one of the first things I did when I found out I was one year cancer free was pop the cork on a bottle of Moët & Chandon, with every drop truly savoured!
Naturally Christmas is all about celebration, and the warmer months in New Zealand make a glass of champagne one of the most perfect options on a long, hot summer’s day. Champagne also makes for a gift that will never be unwanted, and this year Moët Hennessy has announced the release of a fabulous selection of decadent gift sets to make things about as easy as it gets. They have 21 sets covering champagne, cognac, whisky, wine and vodka, but I’m hear to talk about the former, which is full of all manner of quirky and clever options.
The Moët & Chandon Diamond Suit is a beautiful pick at RRP $59.99, with the iconic Moët & Chandon Impérial housed in a gorgeous gold Diamond Suit that is not only looks a treat but keeps your champagne chilled as well. The End Of Year Festive gift is the same price, but comes in a festive box in champagne and gold colours with elegant diamond accents. Oh, and it also comes as a duo because quite frankly, one is often never enough! Next up, the Moët & Chandon Golden Glimmer Chiller is a lacquered metal box holding a 750ml bottle of Moët Impérial that has chiller functionality to keep your champagne cool for up to two hours and is happily reusable.
Taking things up a notch, the Veuve Clicquot Silver Fridge is an absolute beauty. It has an RRP of $74.99 and draws inspiration from the iconic 1950s-style fridge. It keeps your chilled bottle of Veuve Clicquot cold for two hours and is perfect for a little luxe picnic anytime, anywhere. For the lovers of eco luxe out there Veuve also offer Naturally Clicquot, a solid, lightweight, ecologically responsible, easy to carry option designed by Cedric Ragout. Created from 100 per cent biodegradable material such as potato starch and recycled paper, it’s pretty damn stylish, too.
Last but by no means least is the heavenly Dom Pérignon x Jeff Koons 2004 vintage (above). With an RRP $219.90 it makes for a killer gift forlovers of contemporary art and fine champagne, and it’s shot straight to the top of my Christmas list with a bullet!
