Love it: The Organic Skin Co.’s stellar eye shadows

I was intrigued by the World Organic brand from the moment I heard about it - in particular their stance on using beautiful, conscious ingredients and manufacturing practises, and the background of their knowledgeable and warm founder, Megan Douglas.
From an early age, Megan was interested in natural health, learning to make remedies at the back of her grandmother Jennie’s New Zealand health food shop and working during school holidays at what was then her family’s health supplies business, Red Seal, helping out in the manufacturing lab. Later, after a successful career in London as a model and fashion designer, Megan renewed her interest in natural health and wellbeing, travelling to India where she learnt much about Ayurvedic beliefs and medical practice. After returning home she supplemented the knowledge gained in India by completing a degree in Herbal Medicine and Naturopathy and began working seriously on the birth of World Organic. Her core philosophy of providing “ethically produced, high quality, organic products that benefit everyone, body and soul” is one that I wholeheartedly agree with, and the company constantly turns out absolutely stellar products.
Part of the World Organic collective of brands, The Organic Skin Co. is home to a beautiful makeup collection that is as kind and gentle as it is on the skin and the planet as it is effective. I have absolutely fallen in love with their mineral eye shadow formula, which is velvety-smooth, artisan pressed and available in a riot of gorgeous shades. Infused with organic supercritical extracts, it delivers pure, natural botanical beauty with great colour payoff to boot!
I’ve been playing with Midnight - a shimmering deeply intense dark aubergine, above - as well as Orchid, a shimmering rose pink that complements its darker sister perfectly for a summer smokey eye. The pigments are as good as some of the industry’s most ‘serious’ makeup brands and blend incredibly well. The fact that they are pressed is an added bonus when it comes to travel and general handbag-friendliness, and they can be used dry as a shadow or wet as an eyeliner - bonus!
They also come housed in the most beautiful packaging, as is everything else in the range. My next trial will be of their cream blush, but if you want to see more of their beautiful products all in one place visit here.
