Beauty review: Trinny London BFF Rebalance Tinted Serum

It has been said that beauty lovers go crazy over anything Trinny London. Not just in a vaguely excited way, but a full on bonkers, buy-it-all kind of way. And there’s a good reason for that!
Founded by Trinny Woodall, Trinny London has become famous all over the globe for its easy-to-use makeup, for the on-the-go person, with stackable easy to carry products and tools, that will help you rethink, refine, and simplify your makeup routine. And in a world in which it feels like nothing is predictable any more, isn’t that the best feeling?
She has since expanded the range to include skincare, but the hybrid product offering is what got many fans hooked and has reeled in a plethora of new ones in. BFF Rebalance Tinted Serum is in that category, and it quickly won me over, hook, line and sinker.

Light as a feather but incredibly efficacious, BFF Rebalance works as sort of a high coverage tinted moisturiser with super active skincare properties. Like its BFF predecessors, BFF Rebalance marries skincare and makeup, in the most delicious way possible. It's described as a shine-reducing tinted serum with added soothing skincare ingredients, and delivers buildable, oil-controlling coverage without – and this is crucial – dimming your skin’s natural glow. Think buildable coverage with the benefits of a targeted serum and you'll get the idea.
The ingredient deck tells me that it’s formulated with niacinamide and noni bio actives to give medium buildable coverage, balance shine and control blemishes, and they also help deliver the soft-focus, matte finish. It aims to control oil throughout the day without drying out your skin, with zero chance of a midday meltdown and a beautifully diffused finish that will have you gazing in the mirror all day. It has been said that the soft matte coverage “keeps the life in your skin” and it’s true – it looks like your skin, but significantly better.

The formula is very easy to build and blend with your fingertips or a brush, whether your end goal is a natural matte finish for the evening or shine-reducing weekend coverage that lasts all day. The key is to gently press in the product using both hands (as you would with your daily serum) as a final step, then you’re good to glow. Without the flatness that comes with typical matte coverage, it’s easy to pair with just a popping lip colour too, making life easy even on the busiest of days.
I use just a couple of pumps well blended and pressed in, and have to say I’m amazed at how this beauty manages to cover obvious marks and redness without looking like I’m wearing more than a light tint. It also makes my skin feel balanced and healthy for hours, and the sun and pollution protection is a win-win.
This beauty is the dream for people like me who love products that straddle the skincare and makeup categories, and comes super highly recommended. Check out more here,
