Beauty review: Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Lift + Sculpt

Some beauty insiders call them an afterthought, but I believe that a skincare regime isn’t complete without a great eye serum, gel or cream. The skin around the eyes is the thinnest you’ll find on your body as well as having fewer oil glands than the rest of the face, so needs extra special care when and where it can get it.
Most good eye creams and serums are formulated specifically for the skin around the eye, so tend to be a little richer and packed with active ingredients aimed at issues associated with that area. It is more fragile, more prone to dryness, and quicker to show age and fatigue. Squinting can hasten the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and fluids collect under the eyes and cause puffiness and dark circles.
A good eye-specific product can address at least some of these issues, but first make sure you are applying it for optimal effect. First, don’t overdo it. Follow instructions and go gentle - patting in with your ring finger is the best forms of application for this most fragile of areas, and allows your chosen product some time to sink in.

Meet Estée Lauder’s newest eyecare innovation
Which brings me to the newest formula that I’ve been lucky enough to have a play with, Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair Eye Lift + Sculpt. It is the new jewel in the crown for the Advanced Night Repair range, which hit the shelves back 1982, and, over 40 years later, still reigns supreme as one of the most effective overnight serums on counter. Among the range is a multi-recovery complex serum and a cleanser with 15 amino acids, but it’s the newest release that I’ve been trialling… and falling for, hard.
Dubbed the “Derm-Advanced Eye Lift” and reportedly inspired by popular injectables, the new formula is a beautiful-to-use, super fresh, lightweight and fast-absorbing Gel-Creme that aims to deliver results in just four weeks.
It goes to work on what are called “four eye dimensions”, meaning the under eyes, lids, crow’s feet and inner corners, visibly lifting, sculpting and remodelling all around the entire eye area and both static and dynamic lines. In a remarkable breakthrough that really got me excited, it encourages the skin of the eye area to strengthen over time, meaning any ne dynamic lines will be slowed in their tracks.

Key ingredients
This is where the magic happens, with some interesting, very science-y new innovations driving the impressive results delivered in recent clinical studies.
An exclusive Night Peptide is included in the formula that helps optimise the skin’s natural rhythm of renewal, while what is dubbed 2HA Volume Filler helps the cream micro-cushion against eye lines. The highly effective blend combines two types of Hyaluronic Acid—both high- and low-molecular weight versions—to intensely re-plump lost volume and deliver that fresher look we’re all craving.
Lastly, Sculpting Hexapeptide-8 helps this eye firming formula visibly “lift” the eye area. Clinical testing shows it also reduces the look of dynamic lines caused by facial movements—a stabilising and smoothing effect. Love that!

The takeaway
I love that this baby is a multitasker in that unlike a lot of eye creams, it can be used across all four of the aforementioned eye dimensions: under eyes, lids, crow’s feet and inner corners. It also feels amazing to apply – I’ve even used it tapped over the top of concealer later in the day to hydrate and soften. The fluid-yet-creamy texture glides on beautifully without tugging delicate eye skin, leaving it feeling wrapped and cushioned.
