Beauty review: the MECCA MAX OFF DUTY LIQUID BLUSHES & HIGHLIGHTERS
I’m a huge fan of MECCA MAX’s Off Duty collection, reaching for their killer Off Duty Serum Skin Tint on the regular over the summer months. A foundation/serum hybrid that combines a hint of sheer coverage with high performing skincare ingredients, it has been described as looking like: “your skin, with an extra hour of sleep, a few more glasses of water, and a little less screen time”. It blends like a dream and comes with a very affordable MECCA MAX price point, and comes highly recommended!
But I’m here to talk about the latest additions to the bestselling Off Duty franchise – the all new Off Duty Liquid Blushes and Highlighters, which are also perfect for those no-makeup makeup days. 100 percent vegan and cruelty-free, the eight glow-giving hues pack major pigment into their handbag-ready tubes, nourishing and soothing as they go. This is thanks to the fact that they come infused with niacinamide, squalane and hyaluronic acid, so like the Serum Skin Tint, leave your skin looking its best long after they are washed off. It also means that they are brilliant for dry or mature skin types, never looking cakey like some powder blushes.
Incredibly easy to apply and have lots of fun with, the highlighters are designed to be dabbed onto the high points of the face to give cheeks a champagne pop, or sunkissed bronze. Tap the blushes onto the tops of cheeks or swipe across the bridge of the nose for a fresh-from-the-beach glow, and I’ve found that all of the shades on offer work beautifully on so many skin tones. My most used so far are the Spice and Rosy blush shades, which are super flattering and buildable depending on your desired look.
Commenting on the new Off Duty blush and highlighter collection, MECCA’s Makeup and Education Manager, Hannah Daniel, said what she loved most about these liquids is their ability to be mixed to customise an endless range of shades.
