Fragrance Friday: Glasshouse Fragrances introduces Humidor, a limited-edition winter collection

If you know me – or check in here regularly – you’ll know I love a smoky scent, and that goes for personal fragrance choices as well as home fragrance. I’m an unabashed fan of Glasshouse Fragrances’ cult smoky scent Fireside in Queenstown and love burning it both in situ and at home in Auckland, so it was only inevitable that I fell head over heels for their newest limited edition collection: Humidor.
Designed to deliver major glamour and featuring art deco-style artwork reminiscent of this year’s Met Gala theme, Humidor is a trio of sophisticated scents that pay homage to the speakeasies and smoking rooms of yesteryear. Each fine fragrance is nostalgic but with a contemporary, smoky twist – a nod to the ‘humidor’ (an airtight container for storing cigars or tobacco) – and if you have a fragrance fetish like mine, you’ll need one of each and ASAP.
Nicole Eckels, Glasshouse Fragrances CEO and Co-Founder comments: “When it comes to winter fragrances there is nothing better than a scent that transports you to somewhere warm, comforting and sensual. These incredible scents with their art deco inspired sophistication take you on a journey to a 1920’s delicately smoked and gilded speakeasy. I can’t wait for you to experience the Humidor collection.”

This limited-edition range is Glasshouse Fragrances modern take on the Gilded Age, a time of lavish living. To create it, thet imagined a ‘Deco Diva’ (think: a 1920s Scent Addict), then crafted three decadent and dramatic home fragrances she’d indulge in when wanting to escape the humdrum of everyday.
The hero scent of the collection, After Hours is all spiced rum and tendrils of sweet cigar smoke, while Heavy Petal blends smoked patchouli with velvety tulip. Lastly, Scarlet Nights (an online exclusive) melds toasty tobacco with black cherry and rich woods, and all three candles come in a sumptuous glass vessel adorned with art deco inspired gilded patterns, accented with shiny foil. Oh and Heavy Petal is also available as a deco-themed diffuser, equally as luxe.
Sound like a bit of you for the winter months? Glasshouse Fragrances limited-edition Humidor collection is available now from nz.glasshousefragrances.com, and comes highly recommended.
