Summer scent alert: Narciso Rodriguez NARCISO Eau De Parfum Ambrée

It’s early days yet, but I think I’ve found the new season’s most summery, sultry fragrance: NARCISO Eau De Parfum Ambrée
The American-Cuban designer – best known for creating some of the most iconic perfumes of the past two decades – has collaborated once again with French perfumer Aurélien Guichard to create some thing really rather special, a scent that quite literally “smells like summer”.
The NARCISO signature heart of musc is surrounded by an accord of frangipani, ylang-ylang, amber and cedar to create quite the magnetic fragrance, with a touch of salt alluding to the scent of sun-kissed skin.
NARCISO Ambrée is a woody-oriental Eau de Parfum, so it opens sweetly but is never cloying. It then develops into Rodriguez’s aforementioned signature heart of musc, which pairs with amber to offer a warm sensuality. Finally, the magnetic perfume descends into a base note of cedarwood, a soft and woody tone that lingers on the skin. It is definitely a scent that develops over time and lasts and lasts, which will be a bonus when the silly season officially hits and long summer days turn into long summer nights.

When asked by Harper’s Bazaar How he would best describe the NARCISO Eau de Parfum Ambrée woman, the designer said: “I would describe the Ambrée woman as self-poised, confident, and cool. Not unlike the woman who wear other Narciso Rodriguez fragrances; what makes her different is that she radiates the scent of the sun, mixed with amber and orange blossom in the most sensual way.”
The chic bottle is pure NARCISO, a sleek glass cube that will sit sleekly in any bathroom or bedroom. This time it features a summery, peach tone that’s reminiscent of the warm and floral notes within.
Last up, Rodriguez cast Dutch model Laurijn Bijnen (above) as the face of the fragrance campaign and the results are electric.
