Get the look: Lancôme Ambassadress Lupita Nyong’o at Cannes

Vogue called it her “Major Prada Princess Moment”, and it’s safe to say it was one of those moments when actor and Lancôme Ambassadress, Lupita Nyong’o came to Cannes 2018 and literally slayed.
Although she’d favoured Dior Haute Couture and Miu Miu on previous days, when she arrived at Chopard’s Secret Night at Chateau de la Croix des Gardes on May 11 she was sporting pure Prada princess perfection.
Make-up artist Nick Barose created a stand out beauty look to compliment the prettiness of the gown and Nyong’o’s drop dead beautiful face, with quirky accents to keep things modern and fresh. “For tonight, her peach tone gown looked playful so I wanted the make up to be playful too,” said the celebrity MUA. “I played with a bit of 60s influence to give the eyes some fun quirks by adding bold green in the crease to play it up and add a bit of drama.”
To recreate the look at home:
SKIN
Prep well with Lancôme Hydra Zen Gel cream, which Barose describes as “light, hydrating without being greasy, and perfect for warmer Cannes weather”.
Under eyes, apply Lancôme Energie De vie Eyes before prepping the T Zone with La Base Pro Oil free.
The iconic Teint Idole Liquid Foundation in 550 was applied all over, with Teint Idole Concealer in 510 Suede C.
A dusting of Translucence Pressed Powder in 550 was brushed across the T Zone set the look, before Blush Subtil Palette in Rum Raisin was applied to the apples of the cheeks.
Liquid highlighter Bronze Glow was dotted on top of the cheekbones to catch the light.

EYES/BROWS
Brush brows up using brow gel Sourcils Styler in Clear, then fill in the shape without making things too dark using Sourcils Gel in 06 Noir.
Line the upper lash lines with Grandiose Eyeliner in Noir, “tracing it along lash lines and winging it out a little bit”.
Prep the lids using Lancôme Eye Makeup Primer Aquatique in Sienne (a product I am gagging to get my hands on!) then set with powder so it creates the perfect canvas for the colorful creases.
Play up the crease of the eyes to get that 60’s graphic look uisng Le Stylo Waterproof in Vert Tuileries. Start from the inner corners and curve it out by tracing it slightly above the creases (see below). That way, when your eyes open, it really shows.
Adds two coats of black mascara in the form of the seriously amazing Monsieur Big in Noir.

LIPS
Prep lips well with Absolue Lip Balm, another beauty I’m dying to try.
Trace along lip lines and fill in the lips using Lancôme Lip Liner in Vermillon, before applying L’Absolu Rouge Fini Brillant in 011 Rose Nature.

BODY
Add glow to the body using the brand’s iconic Nutrix Royal body cream.
