Why you need: Sara Happ’s ultra luxe The Lip Slip

When I was whiling away a delicious hour at Auckland’s East Day Spa recently I spotted an exciting new addition to their retail offering of beautiful boutique brands – Sara Happ.
Like me you may know Sara’s from her extensive line of lip scrubs that are pretty much good enough to eat (Crème Brulee anyone?) but she also has an equally delicious product entitled The Lip Slip.
A truly luxe balm, The Lip Slip has no colour, just the richest, glossiest hydration possible and a touch of subtle sparkle. Worn day or night, you’ll see results immediately with ingredients such as Sweet Almond, Jojoba and Macadamia nut oils nourishing and conditioning the skin.
Reportedly inspired by “the supple feel of a shimmery gold YSL calfskin bag, a bottle of Coco Chanel Mademoiselle or your favourite camisole,” it is super soft, sweet, nude, girly and grand and I love it. Happ has said of the Slip, “my sole purpose was to create the greatest lip product imaginable. The world didn’t need another lip balm. It needed the perfect one,” which is quite a mission statement to keep to!
It is very thick and deeply moisturising, so if you’re a lipstick fan like me apply it a while before you’re due to go out and really let it sink in, or keep it as an amazing overnight treatment. At the moment it’s made itself at home on my night stand and is set to stay there as the temperature drops and Winter’s icy hand starts making it’s mark, and I reckon it’ll be there perfect way to keep chapped lips and cracking at bay.
