Beauty review: Elizabeth Arden’s new Flawless Finish Skincaring Foundation

Towards the end of last year I was sent a sample of Elizabeth Arden’s newest base offering - the Flawless Finish Skincaring Foundation. In the rush of Christmas madness it remained unopened on my desk, but after finally cracking it open over the last month and giving it a whirl, I am wondering why it took me so long to embrace this beauty!
Delivering an ultra-nourishing but super longwear, natural finish, it’s a foundation that delivers buildable, lightweight coverage that wears for up to 24 hours. Key to its success are a number skin-loving ingredients that allow you to streamline your beauty routine, including Hyaluronic Acid to plump and hydrate and Vitamin C to brighten and even skin tone and protect against free radical damage. My rosacea-prone skin really loves that Vitamin E is in there too, shielding city-dwelling types like me from inevitable environmental stressors while also acting as a natural anti-inflammatory.
Available in 40 shades and great for humid climates in particular, the hybrid makeup-meets-skincare formula also offers oil control for up to 24 hours, is heat and humidity resistant and won’t settle into pores and fine lines. To use, Arden recommends that you prep the skin with their – also new! - Flawless Start Hydrating Serum Primer to create a smooth, even canvas, then apply Flawless Finish Skincaring Foundation with fingertips or a makeup brush, blender or sponge, starting at centre of face as per and blending outwards. I love that it allows you to easily build coverage as needed, depending on whether you’re heading to brunch or a long night out with friends.
