Four Facial Treatments To Have On Your Radar Right Now

I often get asked: in a world of injectables, lasers that go beneath the skin and deep plane facelifts, are in-clinic facial treatments still relevant? I believe yes, but they need to serve a purpose beyond just fluffy hot towels (although I adore them!) and enhance the results of what you’re already doing in the best possible way.
With that in mind, here are the five facial experiences I recommend most right now, and why they deserve a place in your beauty budget…

Dermalogica Plump Peel at Skintopia
What it is: Relatively new to the Dermalogica professional offering, Plump Peel was developed to fill a critical need in professional skin care: a multi-benefit resurfacing treatment that delivers visible smoothing and plumping results, while preserving the skin’s natural integrity. Perfect for peel newbies, it was designed for all skin tones and types, the dual-phase peel bridges the gap between traditional chemical peels and skin health by offering professional grade-exfoliation and visible results – with zero downtime and minimal disruption to the skin barrier, making it both effective and client-friendly. The treatment takes a two-step approach: first, the Peel Balm is applied, melting seamlessly into the skin, delivering comprehensive renewal with gluconolactone, hydroxy acids, retinol and enzymes while maintaining its natural integrity. Next up, the Plump Activator swoops in, an innovative oil-in-water formula Infused with hydrating humectants that energises the skin with a refreshing fizz, instantly replenishing moisture and revealing a radiant complexion.
Why I love it: With no downtime but still incredibly efficacious, Dermalogica’s Plump Peel is absolutely fantastic on its own, but can also be offered as part of other treatments depending on your skin goals, budget and time. One that sounds a great option is the more advanced, 60-minute LuminFusion Plump Peel treatment, which sees the peel nanoinfused into the skin with the Dermalogica Pro Pen, followed by LED Light Therapy.

IMAGE Skincare O2 Lift at About Face
What it is: When I was lucky enough to meet with US-based IMAGE Skincare Global Education Director, Jacquelyn Hill at About Face Ponsonby, she referred to this facial as a “breath of fresh skin”, which I love. Dubbed the “red carpet facial”, it harnesses the qualities of oxygen to bring your skin back to its best – with zero downtime. Oxygen itself offers numerous benefits for a healthy, radiant complexion: It helps bring clarity to troubled skin, purifies clogged pores, supports collagen production and brightens dullness. This luxurious treatment infuses oxygen, plant-derived stem cells, peptides and a high concentration of enzymatic botanicals into the skin leaving it luminous, refreshed and rejuvenated.
Why I love it: Beyond the impressive end results, I love that this facial makes magic without the need to irritate skin in any way. It begins with a gentle cleanse, followed by an enzymatic facial peel that effectively lifts away dull and dead skin cells. This is followed by an oxygenating masque that releases fresh, skin-loving oxygen to the skin cells in the most satisfying way possible (it feels like pop rocks on the skin), before a stem cell enhancer is applied, which contains a blend of stem cells and potent botanicals, to rejuvenate and prevent signs of ageing. The treatment is finalised with a tinted moisturiser that illuminates the skin and provides utmost environmental protection.

The iS Clinical Fire & Ice Facial at Saint Beauty

What it is: The iS Clinical brand is renowned for using a fusion of traditional and western medicine to deliver seriously great results in terms of skin health and transformation, and the world-renowned Fire & Ice facial is a favourite with A-list celebrities like Selena Gomez, Julianne Moore, Suki Waterhouse, Victoria Beckham, and Gwyneth Paltrow, who love the workout it gives their skin in the lead up to special events. In a nutshell, the Fire & Ice Facial is a 60-minute clinically active treatment system designed to rapidly and safely resurface the skin, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, smoothing, softening, and encouraging cellular renewal, making it the perfect pre-event red carpet-style treatment. Additionally, it includes LED light therapy, which is always a favourite of mine as it brings the glow like no other, while reducing inflammation. Just writing this has reminded me how badly I have missed making time to have these on the regular!
Why I love it: I need no excuse to visit Saint Beauty at the best of times, and this is their facial treatment I recommend most – and have only had glowing feedback in response. My therapist for my first ever Saint Beauty Fire & Ice Facial was Conci, who brings a wealth of knowledge with her – especially of iS Clinical, a brand she knows well. The fire component consists of a heating glycolic peel, which is immediately cooled down by the ice component, which involves a rejuvenating masque with hyaluronic acid and aloe, massaged with cooling ice globes. The facial has zero downtime so perfect if you’re rushing in on a busy day, and your skin just feels next level good afterwards.

Medik8 Exosomes Micro Channel Infusion at Exquisite Laser
What it is: Also known as the Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ treatment, the Medik8 Exosomes Micro Channel Infusion is an in-clinic procedure that pairs microneedling with Medik8’s professional exosome and vegan PDRN concentrate. It is designed to boost skin rejuvenation, speed up recovery, and visibly improve firmness, tone, and luminosity, and has been proven to deliver five times more efficacious results than microneedling alone. Shallow enough to easily be bearable without numbing cream, it involves controlled micro-needles creating invisible channels in the skin, allowing the active ingredients to penetrate deeply where they are most effective. The professional serum is formulated with up to 10 billion exosomes per millilitre and prismatic PDRN, the exosomes acting as ‘cellular messengers’ that communicate with skin cells to accelerate repair and collagen production. Working in synergy, these technologies help support the skin’s natural recovery response, essentially reinforcing resilience and supporting skin ‘architecture’. You leave with three days’ worth of the booster serum to continue the good work at home.
Why I love it: I tried this treatment at Exquisite Laser just last week and was impressed by the comfort level. I definitely had a lot of redness immediately following, but this soon subsided and my skin felt a little tight but not irritatingly so. Microneedling already stimulates rejuvenation within the skin; but the booster concentrate is designed to enhance that response and amplify results, supporting visible recovery. By day two my skin was glow-y and fresh, and I’ve continued its good work by introducing the brand’s Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ serum to further enhance my in-clinic outcome.
