Beauty review: Revlon’s new ColorStay Multiplayer Liquid-Glide Eye Pencil

If you know me, then you know I love a statement eye. And although I love the luxury of a 60 minute long face beat, I also have an arsenal of products on hand that get the job done quickly, and go above and beyond in terms of multi-functionality.
Which brings me to the latest product release which has caught my eye (literally): a multi-use marvel from the clever clogs at Revlon. Called the ColorStay Multiplayer Liquid-Glide Eye Pencil, this formula went straight onto my eyes the minute some samples landed languidly on my desk. Basically a sharpen-able eye pencil with a blending brush, it’s the beautiful formula that won me over from the get-go – as well as the very justifiable sub-$30 price point.
Available in six shades (fingers crossed for more), these beauties allow you to create a plethora of popping eye looks that apply like a charm and just don’t budge. First of all, I love the fact that these glide on like liquid (a must for mature eyes or sensitive types), and don’t tug the delicate skin of the lids or ‘skip’, leading to multiple do-overs. The creamy texture also gives you ample play time before the pencil sets for twelve hours of waterproof wear, whether you choose to tight line, blend or diffuse depending on your desired end look.

The built-in blending brush is just soft enough to allow you to go from sleek lines to a smoke show in a flash, but also rigid enough to let you softly pull out a wing – a huge help if you’re taking it in your handbag for an after-work application, or in your carry on luggage. No additional brushes required? Love that.
My favourite shades thus far are Checkmate, a heavy on pigment coal black, and Glitch Effect (see, below), which is a lovely grey-blue and the perfect match for my eyes. Under the Radar is the next on my testing list, a taupe that I think could be great for an easy daytime smoky eye.

Highly recommended - and yes, you need more than one - Revlon ColorStay Multiplayer Liquid-Glide Eye Pencils are on counter now.
