Love it: La Roche-Posay adds two powerful anti-ageing serums to its stellar line up

My obsession with French beauty may have started with a red lipstick, but it's French skincare that really turned my head and reeled me in. Packing for Paris has long meant leaving room in your suitcase for one heck of a lot of beauty-related purchases - after all, the city’s legendary pharmacies and perfumeries are impossible to resist.
And it’s not just the products - the philosophy that goes alongside their most famous brands is equally as alluring. French women are very much concerned about looking after their skin and their body in the long term, as opposed to the mainly-US and UK-based beauty approach that looks for results, NOW. This attitude permeates into the New Zealand and Australian psyche a lot these days as well – women expect products to work over night, and if they don’t get the results they desire straight away they opt for harsh chemicals and exfoliants that may provide the wow-factor in the short term, but will irreparably damage their skin over time.
Which brings me to La Roche-Posay, one of the most recommended skincare brands by French dermatologists that works to fight against irritated skin, intolerant skin and allergic skin. Its constant recommendation by dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons should tell you all you need to know about the hype surrounding the pharmacy brand, which has been my go-to of late when my rosacea seriously made its presence felt during lockdown. It’s not all just soothing and healing though, as La Roche-Posay have some significant anti-ageing offerings as well that have garnered seriously great reviews. In fact, they have just added two new powerful additions to the aforementioned mix locally in the form of Redermic Pure Vitamin C10 Serum and Hyalu B5 Anti-Wrinkle Concentrate Serum.
Redermic Pure Vitamin C10 Serum has been highly spoken about internationally since its launch, so the fact that it is finally available here is great news. A first-of-its-kind formula, the anti-ageing serum is formulated with 10% pure Vitamin C and physiological pH to support the skin’s barrier. It also contains salicylic acid and neurosensine - two active ingredients that boost radiance, reduce fine lines and refine skin texture – and is rich in antioxidants to up the radiance factor and reduce signs of ageing, wrinkles, loss of firmness and lack of luminosity. It has an incredibly light, fast absorbing texture with a non-greasy finish that is perfect for all skin types (including sensitive), and even makes for a deliciously soft and velvety makeup base in the morning.
The second offering is Hyalu B5 Hyaluronic Acid Serum, which has a luxurious to use, aqua-gel consistency and is formulated with two weights of hyaluronic acid to re-plump, Vitamin B5 for repair, Madecassoside for its reparative properties and La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water to soothe. High molecular weight hyaluronic creates an invisible surface barrier on skin to retain moisture and re-plump fine lines, while low molecular weight hyaluronic acid is in there to penetrate the skin for a deep re- plumping action from within to help stimulate collagen synthesis. It’s a seriously high performance little number, and I fell in love with it from the get go.
Sound like a bit of you? La Roche- Posay Redermic Pure Vitamin C10 Serum RRP $74.99 and Hyalu B5 Anti-Wrinkle Concentrate Serum RRP $74.99 come highly recommended, and are available right now.
