Love it: Lancôme’s limited edition My French Palette

One of the most beautiful releases (to see, touch and use) that has come onto my beauty radar in a while, Lancôme's My French Palette is inspired by the atmosphere of a Parisian garden in the Spring. To set the scene: “the Parisian woman crosses a Paris flowered with a thousand roses. Romantic, but always with a well-dosed dash of fantasy, she rediscovers the city she so loves with light-hearted wonderment…” Sounds pretty dreamy to me, especially as the scene is set in my favourite city in the world!
The beautifully crafted palette is a part of Lancôme's Spring Collection, simply called French Innocence. It is made up of a raft of instantly want-able products, including matching nail polishes, lipglosses (the Lip Lover shades are to die for) and eyeliners, and the palette is definitely the hero of a very special bunch.
It is composed of seven eye shadow shades and two liners, or nine eye shadow shades, depending on how you would like to use the last two (on the lid there is a removable sticker with instructions of how to use the shades, for extra inspo). Once you open the compact, you see the first six shades, which are all extremely wearable naturals. The three on the left are matte and three on the right are shimmery, so thumbs up for providing an option for lovers of both.
We all have nude palettes though, don't we, many of them in fact. What is really interesting about My French Palette however is that it introduces the concept of "nudes with a twist", quite literally. The last three powders in the palette are all pops and lie hidden behind a metal lid. Once you open it, you transform the palette into a more colourful one with all the possibilities of mixing layering and matching that entails. I love it.
Naturally, this means there is a range of looks that can be achieved with this palette. A matte neutral look, a shimmery neutral look, a turquoise all the way look. Neutral eye with pop eye liner look, neutral eye with pop along the lower lash line look… you name it and you can probably do it.
The Lancôme tips for use are:
For daytime, adopt a fresh pop of colour:
Sweep a light veil of shade 1 over the whole lid as well as the brow arch. Create intensity with shades 3, 4 and 6, starting from the mobile lid to the outer corner of the eye.
Highlight your gaze by applying shade 8 along your lower lash line.
Add a glint of light to your eyes by brushing shade 7 in the inner corner of the eye.
When night falls, opt for a chic and elegant smoky look:
Sweep shade 7 from the inner corner of the eye to the middle of the lid.
Apply shades 5 and 6 from the middle of the lid to the outer corner of the eye.
Add subtle depth to your gaze by blending shade 2 under the brow arch.
Underline your eyes by applying shade 8 along the upper lash line and shade 9 along the lower lash line.

Too beautiful really, and that’s before you have even popped the case! This baby is available now, with an RRP of $98.00. I suggest you grab one, and ASAP.
