Hair how to: ghd x Aje at Paris Fashion Week

Whimsical, wonderful and imminently wearable Australian label Aje just debuted its SS27 collection titled 'Unfurled' at Collège des Bernardins during Paris Fashion Week, and it was an outing filled with beautiful moments and coveted looks.
Hair and beauty director, the inimitable Renya Xydis was the creative in charge of translating the collection’s sculptural femininity into an undone, tactile hair direction, taking the hair in a much less polished direction - working with each model’s natural texture rather than creating one uniform runway look. Think soft movement, imperfect bends and hair that felt considered, but not overly “done”.
Developed backstage with Wella Professionals and ghd, the look is defined by natural movement, soft irregularity and a finish that feels instinctive rather than overly styled.
The foundation of every look was Wella Professionals Ultimate Repair Miracle Hair Rescue, while the ghd Sculpt Styler was used to introduce soft, irregular S-bends, creating texture that feels relaxed and spontaneous.
Read on for details of how to get two of my favourite looks from the show at home…

LOOK ONE
1. The hair was prepped with pick me up volume spray throughout to add a light grip and hold, before rehab split end sealer was used through the mid lengths and ends to add moisture. Both products contain ghd’s patented heat protection formula, for the ultimate in hair care.
2. Using the ghd speed with the wide smoothing concentrator, the hair was blow-dried with a paddle brush in a smoothing, flat motion.
3. Once the hair was completely dry, large irregular sections were waved using the new ghd sculpt. Working down the hair in a vertical motion, and rotating 180 degrees (half a turn) an effortless undone wave was made in the hair.
4. This was alternated directions clockwise and anti-clockwise throughout the hair, however all the hair in front of the ears was directed away from the face
5. Once complete, the hair was brushed through using the oval dressing brush and lightly sprayed with ghd curls gone wild texture spray and once again dry shampoo for a textured, aerated feel.

LOOK TWO
1. Each model’s hair was enriched before styling with rehab dry hair nourisher to add hydration and add smoothness, then using the speed hairdryer and diffuser attachments her beautiful natural texture enhanced, with low heat and low velocity drying the hair with limited movement
2. Once the hair was completely dry, irregular sections were defined with alternate pieces using the ghd thin wand and chronos curve classic tong, not styling all the hair, again to enhance the beautiful natural curls.
3. Once the curls were defined, shiny ever after finishing spray was applied, using hands to rake through and disturb the curls to give it a fluffy but highly hydrated feel.
