All about: YSL Touche Éclat Blur Primer and Blur Perfector

All hail the arrival of YSL Touche Éclat Blur Primer and Touche Éclat Blur Perfector, a new dynamic duo of blur formulas that invoke the magic of the original must have product, Touche Éclat.
Primers are without a doubt the most underrated products in my makeup collection; I don’t own many and almost never wear them, mainly due to time constraints and general laziness. That is until now. Ever since trying the YSL Touch Éclat Blur Primer on at least an every-day-or-so basis, I’ve been making an effort to wear a face primer more often because I have noticed the actual difference it is making. The stuff is a marvel!
For those who haven’t heard of it previously, the YSL Touche Éclat Blur Primer is a light-infused transparent gel primer, which claims to even out the skin tone, blur imperfections and help makeup last longer. Because it’s transparent, this primer allows the light to diffuse properly without interference from dulling opaque fillers, and it really days bring the GLOW big time. The formula is also non-comedogenic and suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. This is the newest product on the Touche Éclat line, and the legendary brand calls it a key part of a “new beauty ritual” that I am more than happy to adopt.
So how exactly does it work? Well it diminishes the look of flaws thanks to an optical effect without masking the complexion, smoothes skin texture and boosts foundation radiance for a magnified result. It transforms skin with quite literally a surge of light, and comprises two unique light-diffusers:
1. Flat golden pigments for specular reflection. Light is reflected in a single direction to illuminate skin and bring imperceptible warmth to the complexion
2. Soft Focus Gel for diffused reflection. Light is reflected in multiple directions to deflect the eye from skin imperfections
The formula also contains a combination of four nourishing oils: Corn Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Passiflora Oil and Rice Bran Oil. Despite its heady formula it’s super-light and non-greasy, and I think the YSL Touche Éclat Blur Primer has an edge over other primers I’ve tried in the past because it doesn’t feel like a thick layer of silicone sitting on the surface. It acts as a barrier between my moisturiser and my foundation, but it’s not impenetrable and it fuses with my foundation in the most naturally flawless way.
Next up in the duo is the YSL Touche Éclat Blur Perfector, which is a pretty amazing balm-powder blur that optically disguises imperfections and enhances skin’s natural, healthy rosy glow. It has a super soft texture that is the result of the 60/40 balance between powder and liquid, and leaves the skin’s texture immediately refined when you dab/tap it on. Pores become less visible and it mattifies the skin, but you don’t lose the healthy rosy glow we all want to achieve. Make sure to really tap it on without sweeping, and you can retouch as needed throughout the day.
These two marvels are available right now with an RRP of $92.00 each.
